Jonathan Toews is a plus 9 (3 better than anyone) and tied with Heatley for tournament scoring with 7 pts. Wow. Love that guy.

Good enough to destroy the Germans 2-0...

He has VERY quietly been perhaps our best player.

Tied for tournament lead in points, by far the best plus/minus, checking the other teams best lines into oblivion, and our best penalty killer.

Toews has yet to be on the ice for a goal against, even while short handed. Which is not a shock considering that during the season he has been on the ice for more SH goals for than PP goals against. I can't even begin to think how that is even possible.

just how damn good is Canada going to be for 2014? (you know the NHL will eventually cave and allow the players to go). 4 more years of experiences for Toews, Crosby, and Doughty. young stars that should be just entering their prime in Stamkos, Tavares, and Duchene. and a veteran Iginla to captain Team Canada to back-to-back gold in Sochi

There's a reason why Sutter said Toews would be the best captain in the game 10 years from now. The kid is 21 and works his ass off but is super-talented as well.

Either way, bring on the semi's baby.

Shots were only 25-21 Sweden too.

They also only beat Belarus 4-2 too (with an empty netter).

Canada has looked to be far and away the best team in the tourny thus far. But that doesn't guarantee them anything.

I missed most of the game tonight as I was working. Anyone know if we can watch the whole game, hopefully unedited later on?

One thing I've noticed about the Swedes this tournament, that could be a real problem for us, is they dive A LOT. They're constantly looking to draw a penalty, and the refs so far have seemed to fall for the dives all the time.

Hardly surprising considering how many Canucks and Red Wings are on the team.

As a neutral fan, I was execting a more interesting game than what I saw tonight, as soon as Canada went up 3-0 I was yelling for the russians to put in bryzgalov, how stubborn can a coach get, nabakov only got worse after that.

Hats off to Canada just completely dominated from start to finish, I think the result we saw today is one you would see 1 time out of 10. The russians should be ashamed of themselves they let there proud hockey country down with that result.

I just hope these guys don't get too high on themselves for beating the worst defensive team in the tournament to a bloody pulp.

Now the REAL tournament begins vs. Sweden.

Just think about how well the Sedins must know Luongo and his tendencies. (gulp)

9 times out of 10...

Russia REALLY IS that bad defensively. If Canada hadn't shut it down in the third, they may have hit double digits.

LOL totally a homer response, but anyways I wouldn't expect differently. You really think you'd blow out the russians 9 times out of 10 I think canada wins 6 to 7 games against the russians out of 10 but definately there would be some more competitive games.

I love how people automatically assume after one result that they'd own russia everytime.
