This is going to be one for the ages...
Always wanted to say that and have it actually be relevant.
GO CANADA GO!

Crosby vs Ovechkin.... sick of hearing this.
I bet team Canada gets more points than Crosby, same for the other guys

The CTV hockey panel before this game should be fun. I predict the panelists will talk about Ovechkin vs. Crosby to the point where they literally become aroused. (I'm at work so if they have already done this than I apologize).

With any luck, this'll be the first of three games all worthy of being gold-medal finals.
Game on.

Almost as much as I want Canada to win, I don't want this game to be decided with a shootout.

That is my biggest fear. What a shame that would be to have one of the best sporting match ups in the world ruined by a breakaway contest.

Nash with Toews and Richards tonight. Head to head with OV and company.
|
How do the rest of the lines look now? Morrow moves up with the ANA line?

I've got a bit of a stomach flutter going on just thinking about this one. It's quite ridiculous really, given my age. I mean I've attended European Cup finals, FA cup finals, Memorial cup finals, playoff games galore but I'm still acting like a little kid when thinking about this matchup. I guess it's because I'm so proud to be an adopted Canadian. Since moving here in 1992 I've watched countless old Canada-Russia games on DVD and the passion on display is incredible. I got goosebumps seeing Paul Henderson score "the goal". I may not be a born and bred Canadian but I sure feel like one now.
I see this one going to OT which is making me freak out even more!
4-3 Canada. Iginla with a couple. Crosby with the OT winner.

~ 4 hours to go... this day has been a total waste at work.
With Nash-Toews-Richards as one line what will the other lines be?
Staal-Crosby-Iggy
Heatley-Thornton-Marleau
Morrow-Getzlaf-Perry
??
Bergeron as the 13th fwd?

Ugh. I completely forgot about playoff butterflies. The next 4 or 5 days could be like game 7's every other day. Too. Much.
Canada wills themselves to victory tonight.

Last I looked, I wasn't an NHL coach, but Nash on a line responsible for shutting down Ovechkin and Malkin? Yeesh. I have faith in Toews and Richards, but from what I've seen, Nash would be the last guy I'd saddle with that responsibility (or portion thereof).

I smell overtime tonight. What is the format? Same as yesterday's games? 10 mins 4 on 4, then shootout?

Yup, all games are 10 minute OT except the Gold Medal Final which will be 20 minutes.

The Bergeron pick was fataing ######ed. Whoever picked him over guys like St. Louis, Stamkos, CARTER should be canned from Hockey Canada.
Bergeron? Patrice Bergeron? WTF were they thinking??
What a waste.
