Here is the delightful Iris, an alpine skier from Iceland competing in the Super G and Slalom whom I had the pleasure of spending some time with yesterday. You won't see her on the podium, but she's a great kid who is trying her best at these games. The pic isn't professional, obviously, and doesn't really do this 19 year old or her exquisite frame justice.



How do you impress a hot olympic athlete? Well, it can get unconventional. The owner of my favorite sushi joint, for example, invented a sushi roll in honour of Japanese figure skater Mao Asada. Here's the sushi.



Then, one of the local Japadog vendors got into the act and invented the Mao dog. Here it is:

All those official Vancouver headshots are terrible, like bad passport photos. Anyone can look like crap in those just like anyone can look passably attractive in those FHM-type airbrushed photosets.
