The battle of Crosby and Ovechkin continues to the international stage and will no doubt be a classic game.

Well... I'm off to bed. I'm sure I'll be popping into this Game Day Thread sometime tomorrow, during the day of the game.

This should be the most entertaining game of the week.

With the talent level of these two teams and the history between the countries, I think this might be one of the greatest games of all time. It's a shame these teams are only assembled and play each other once every 4 years.

If Canada can play like they should, Canada wins this game.

So pumped for this game. I think it will be 5-4 Canada. I expect a game changing hit at some point. I hope Iggy keeps it going and Luongo is ready to be challenged. The passion and intensity we will see in this game will mirror a game 7 of any playoff round.

I wanted Russia in the gold medal game but either way I am glad we get to see this matchup.

I am just going to keep my head down, and I don't think I can even watch this live - I will PVR just in case. Just this once, Soviet Russia, just this once - for Alexander Nevsky, Peter the Great, Lenin, Stalin and Brezhnev!

All I know is that as bad as Crosby has been defensively thus far, I expect him to raise his game for this one and hopefully see him and Ovechkin go head to head which i think would allow Canada's depth to win the game. Luongo will have to be huge as well, which is always a question mark.

Well, I'll start the game flat on my back, channel clicker in one hand and a dental assistant inflicting pain on me while I stare at a TV hooked to the ceiling. If Canada scores early and I jump I might be disfigured for life.

It can only get better after that.

Canada wins this one. They're the dominant team in the tourney and they have a goalie now who can at least stop the one's he should and a few more beyond that.

Depth wins.

Mother Russia is going to break you. We will have a new number joke for Luongo and it won't be anything under 7.

I want to see a Ovey/Crosby and an Iggy/Malkin fight tonite.

Bottom line is that Canada would have very likely had to go through Russia at one point or another to get to the Gold. I think Canada wins tonight for sure but regardless, whoever wins will win the Gold.

< 9 hours until game time... I won't be getting any work done today.

I was hoping this would have been the gold medal game, but might as well get it over with now. I think Team Canada will come out on top. Russia hasn't looked as dominant as I thought they would and Canada seems to have found their game. 7uongo will probably be the difference in this game.

4-3 Canada.

Go Canada Go!
