GDT - Canada vs Germany (5:30 MT, CTV)

			 VS
Let the elimination rounds begin!

Luongo to handle duties between the pipes.

I'm predicting a 5 - 0 route. Goals from Staal, Iginla, Marleau, Heatley, Nash

GO CANADA GO!!!

8-7 for Canada. 7uongo lives up to his name. Fleury starts Wednesday.
Actually I think it is going to be 7-0 for Canada.

I predict a 4-2 victory, including an empty nett. We outplay the team that has never won, but really only by one goal. We look 'pretty good' agaisnt a team that gave up 5 goals to Belarus, but doubts persist about both the goaltending, the team in front of it, and the brain-damaged coach madly pushing buttons and throwing levers behind the bench.
Crosby busts his @$$, but is not a game-breaker. Line juggling and general mismanagement continue. Perry sees more ice time than Toews.

A small part of the Nation's soul dies a little more. But when the final buzzer sounds, our opponents go home, and we still have hockey to play.

Iginla-Crosby-Staal is going to tear it up and destroy. I think Babcock has been told by management to stop screwing around already and will keep the lines together, get Pronger the hell off the ice, etc.
 5-0, 6-0, something like that.

It'd be nice to see Joe Thornton have a really good game, if he gets going in a tourny like this, it could spell doom for the opponents.

the good thing for canada is they won´t loose against russia, the bad thing is that they´ll lose tonight
germany wins in the shootout
honestly, i´ll be more than happy if the germans play a good game and loose after a honourable fight

I would guess Germany will play the trap // they will try to slow the game as much as possible..... will be a low scoring game probably 3-1 for Canada.

2-1 Canada in a shootout. The shots are 87-4 for Canada. Canada ties the game up in the closing seconds of regulation. Germany goes up 2-0 in the shootout, before Canada scores on its last two attempts in the original three. Brodeur scores the shootout winner, on a hunch by Babcock.

It's not an easy day as the Germans stand up physically and make it brutally tough to get much going offensively, but Canada wins 3-0.

I'm not sure if it has been mentioned, but this Brian Williams interview with Gretzky (post USA game, pre Germany) is one of the best Gretzky interviews I have seen in awhile....not the diplomatic Gretzky interviews that we are accustomed to where it looks like he hasn't slept in 2 months....very upbeat and passionate about Team Canada.http://www.ctvolympics.ca/video/inde...e-a8227ec20491 |
