Default Advise on getting into a Senior Rec Hockey League

Hey CP, I have been out of playing Hockey for quite a few years, but still play Shinny 3-4 times a week. Looking to play with an adult league 25+, but have had a lot of trouble finding a league, and also enough people to play with.

Just looking for some recommendations...very flexible with times, cost, etc

Maybe post something at a couple of rinks with your email and letting them know you are available to sub.

That way you when you get calls you can check them out, they can check you out, etc.

Believe it or not, check out Kijiji, when teams are short they sometimes look for players through there.

You can also go to the NCHL forum here, there is a thread called Teams looking for Players

I'm sure the HNA league has something similiar, i'm just not familiar with there website.

Good luck!

As mentioned visit the main leagues websites and post on any of the forums saying you're looking to spare or play full-time, teams will look there when they need players to fill their teams. Also call the leagues and let them know you're willing to play with a team that needs players, they will add you to a list and if a team captain calls the league looking for players the leagues will give them this list. As well I've seen many ads on kijiji and craigslist for players looking to fill a team.

Also Hockey North American (HNA) runs something along the lines of a skills competiton, not sure when, where team captians go watch and pick up players for their teams.

Summer leagues:

HNA builds a couple of teams out of spare/individual players every summer, and I believe they're doing it again this year. I'll see if I can get more info.
