Again, Del Bosco had another hiccup at the starting gate. Makes a great move from 4th to 3rd, and then I think he tried to take that second last jump with speed to see if he could possibly make it into 2nd place. It cost him. Dearly.

This Olympics, last Olympics... if they gave a copper medal for fourth place we'd be ahead of pack. Only difference this year is how much we spent to be losers.

It is when you are expected to challenge for a gold.
If Canada finished 4th in mens hockey people wouldn't say "Hey, fourth place isn't bad".

As long as they try their best, I'm happy with the effort.
Also if the mens hockey finishes fourth, it'll still be a lot better than Torino.

Maybe we should start blaming the City of Vancouver? Clearly that has something to do with it.

Yes it would be better then Torino but still an epic failure.
I think they will go all the way though.

If you read How not to compete at the Olympics, the cover would have the Canadian flag on it.

and that's why Canada will never be a serious contender on the sports world stage, since everyone from coaches, to athletes, to fans seem to have that same attitude

Everything was going pretty well when Montgomery won and the last 24 hrs has been ugly and demoralizing.

Exactly. The athletes who are not expected to medal...........then that is a fine attitude to have. Just go out and do your best and see where the chips fall. But for the athletes who are supposed to medal, that is nowhere near the attitude they should have. They should be pissed off if they don't medal and not happy with their effort.

Haha I felt the exact same way, I was eerily relaxed because he's American, I thought he'd be immune to the chokeritis. Guess it even applies to landed immigrants. You've gotta be kidding me. Why do we always choke so friggin much?? I can't handle much more of this...
It better be 5-0 Canada tonight, or I'm going on a murder-spree.

That might be the last good memory of the games.
That would be a good one though, still an amazing run.

You know, if I did that (blow the bronze in an extremely risky attempt to win silver), I might consider going out and getting totally high or plastered....

I think hockey and curling will net Canada 4 more medals, and atleast 3 gold medals.
