Nope...but they want to know that their support moving forward wont be for not. Right now, he is not a very good guy to most.

Oh please, as long as he wins tournaments he will get the sponsors. It all boils down to money....
I'm sure your average golfer doesn't really care about what happened.
Hell, I am envious of the guy. He should market his new "pimp" image and sell Tiger Woods golf clubs with silhouettes of hot chicks on them, like those mud flaps from Canadian Tire...

"A clinic in a celebrity apology" - a CTV commentator after it was over.
I agree with that.
In this situation, you can never say you're sorry enough and you bring it all back on yourself. It's the only way out given the breathless depth of the transgressions. Doesn't hurt to lash out at the stalking media regarding the family members either. All of that engenders sympathy.
But a professionally done piece, not personally done.
Probably the first stage in a well thoughtout, multi-level, multi-year refurbishment of his professional image.
I admire its professionalism even as I loathe the media being a partner to it.

Sadly I agree with Mikey as weird as it sounds.
I don't have a lot of respect for guys who cheat on their wives.
I also don't believe that Woods is the least bit sorry about anything here except for the fact that he got caught and it hurt his earning power.
Its all about public relations (sorry) and spin (I will be better, I had a sense of entitlement) and generating sympathy while providing an excuse (I'm a sex addict its not my fault I'm in rehab)
The only thing that saves Woods and dooms the average human being is the money factor. Tiger is the modern day Big Ern McCraken, he's above the law, he can buy his way out of anything.

Exactly, which is why he needs to make the apology and attempt to rehabilitate his image. Golf isn't Nascar, there's no money in marketing yourself to the trailer parks or even the average golfer. The large corporations who throw money into golf want to cater to the ultra rich at the private country clubs, and as much as those guys are often guilty of the same things that Tiger did, those people don't want to be perceived as supporting someone of questionable character.

I wonder what that rehab is? they shock his penis everytime he gets excited?
Did anyone really blame his wife for what happened? She deserved praise from the start.

Typical robotic Woods, he really should have said that he was exceptionally sorry that he got caught. That was lame, I love the guy as a golfer, but going to therapy for bumping chicks that aren't his wife is pretty ridiculous.

Then there was nothing he could of said today to change your mind/perception, and likely there never will be. That's fine, but we cant then hammer him for what he did say to those that wish to believe him or his ability to change.

I would like to agree and i think he should of done something long ago, but in my mind he is only now learning that he is not "above" others and has understood that his sense of entitlement simply does not exist any longer if it ever did.
Therapy will do that for you, it gets one to focus on what is real instead of the illusion you have lived in. He said he had been in for 45 days and is heading back tomorrow for more.
he has a long road ahead, but this was a first step.
