Skiing Fail
Although it is sad that she trained for YEARS for her Olympic moment and this is what happened... I still burst out laughing when I saw this yesterday.
On this note... was kind of crazy just how many crashes there were yesterday. Including the one favorite who got 190ft of air & bailed.

Yesterday was probably the most memorable downhill run in Olympic history. Huge crashes, unhuge crash and awesome commentating.

I felt bad for her but had to laugh. Was she actually injured? I know she stayed down on the ground for at least a couple minutes...

Was this the same one that fell and then rolled off into the trees?

She would, but she was too busy riding down the hill on it.

Hilarious. 4 strides and down. You cant right stuff that good.
The way she fell made it so much more epic veering off to the side on one leg. Classic humor right there folks

She had to have some sort of injury to make her veer off like that, hahaha, funny though.

Yeah, a Canadian would never do that. Well maybe only when they're the favorite in the Women's 100m hurdles...

its actually not that difficult to have a fall like that going slow. i've had many starts in training or races where you just push hard and lose your balance and blam. down you go on the flatest/slowest part of the hill. sucks for it to happen in the olympics though. i remember them talking about how the french girls were complaining about the bumpyness of the snow so who knows where her mind was at as well. sucks!

I don't think she lost her balance. One replay showed that she actually stuck her pole too close to her ski and it blocked her stride as she was leaning to the right. Pretty brutal for that to happen in the Olympics. I bet she's never even done that before.

sounds like she lost her balance!
you can lose it by leaning too far into a turn without enough pressure on the snow or a numerous amount of ways. i've been the victim of losing my grip on my pole out of the start occasionally which just messes up your run right off the start. i have seen people fall right out of the start with no pushing. the differnce being is this is the olympics and probably the only time 90% of the viewing audience will ever see ski racing.
