^Chan... =P
Uhh, looks like 7th place. I think he still has a chance for a medal, but needs a flawless skate. I think..

So apparently all our "strong" events are later in the Olympics. What exactly are our strong events?

I believe Skeleton is one. Not sure about the rest though.

Chan is done. Three guys have 90+. They are almost guaranteed the medals. It's just now a battle for what colour.

Chan doesn't have a quad, he can't catch up.

Hockey
Curling

That should be 4 medals right there.

I believe we do well at half pipe.

They are going to be in tough with the half-pipe competition. The Women aren't expected to do anything IIRC. There's some hope on the Men's side as all three Canadians have shown they can compete on the world stage.. but its a stacked field and the Americans are loaded in this event

That said, they really should pick up at least a medal in the Snowboard Alpine event. Jasey Jay Anderson is leading the circuit this year. Michael Lambert and Matt Morison have both won this year too and have multiple podium finishes. They really should get a medal out of that.

Strong events coming up later in the games include a lot of short track speed skating, the hockey and curling medals and women's long track speed skating. Possibly also skeleton, aerials, snowboarding parallel giant slalom and ski cross (I'm not sure how competitive we are this year in these). We might also have a chance in the cross country sprint events which we've had medals in during previous Olympics.
