I actually "got the hell out of" Calgary.

Nope. Been to 2 Sharks game this year so far (both against the Oilers). Don't like or hate the Sharks. Indifferent. If Calgary gets that 8th seed then I will be a Sharks fan!

It wasn't that big a lead - if someone trailing takes risks and gains more speed it's not unusual to catch up.

Oh god. what a joke. You'd think that after yesterday they would have found a solution.

or have a backup zamboni.

I just found out last nite my old roommate is the manager of ops at the sledding track. I guess it's best to contact him after the olympics.

More of the "revolutionarily green" zamboni problems. 2 days in a row.

Should bring in a gas *gasp* powered zamboni and get everyone in the crowd to drop in $2 for the carbon offset.

Supposed to be the crown jewel, so far the venue has had its share of problems. Doesn't really matter, when these two weeks are over, the high level long track speedskating training in this country will still be dominated by the Calgary Oval, simply due to the altitude.

Which means the leader should always go all out no?

Because no matter in what race there will always be a guy trailing.

Well I am going to miss the end results of the 500m because I am going to dinner in an hour and the Zamboni has been broken for like 20 minutes. Damn.

I'm out too. I hope they can't fix the zamboni and the last group will have to go out on crap ice. That way Mike Ireland will be 2nd going into the final skate! hehe

You are right.

Had I known somebody who actually knew the "meat and Potatoes" of F1 racing (at that time) was going to read my post, I wouldn't have chosen that comparison. It was just the first thing that came to mind in terms of Dominance in sports. Schumacher was dominant for at least 7 years, WHY he was dominant is another 50 paragraphs.
