Drew Neilson is up.

This is a fun sport, I would train for this.
Get two qualifying runs and 4 heats!

Better having your entire Olympics hinge on one run!

I'm beginning to really enjoy cross-country races

I'd be quite surprised if we didn't walk away with at least one medal in boardercross. Having your entire team in the top 10 during qualifications gives you some pretty good seeding during the actual heats.

Should be fun to watch!

We have a great chance of winning a medal in the Snowboard Cross!

EDIT: We are in heats 5,6,7, and 8.

So how exactly does it work? A certain number of people in each heat make it through? And then when they are through they make more heats out of the remaining boarders?

Top 2 in each heat advance, bottom 2 are eliminated until you are left with 4 riders, which is the final heat. Medals are awarded in that heat.

Keep in mind you have to FINISH in the final to get a medal. If there's a big crash you'll see guys hiking back up to make sure they don't miss a gate which means all kinds of pushing and elbowing. I'm not too sure if they've modified the rules, but when I was racing and you got interfered with and it affected you, you had to stop and put your arms up to protest it. If the protest wasn't successful you were eliminated.

It's pretty wide open when the heats go, because anything can happen. You can be in the top 2, get tangled up and crash, and all of a sudden the guy in last is in first. Kinda like short track speed skating, except big crashes are waaaaaaaay more common in snowboardcross.
