TV is pretty much terrible. I have not watched it for years and I miss nothing about it.

How do you know it's terrible then?

There are several outstanding shows on TV these days.

I don't say this to be a jerk, I don't doubt that you do not miss it and that's great for you.

I suppose that's fair. Well, I assume it's still terrible and continue to miss nothing of what it was back then. I won't speak for now.

Some of you might find this interesting, 30-35 years ago we all basically watched the same shows because there was very little choice... CBC NBC ABC and CBS.

Really bad t.v. shows, and lousy commercials. LoL

I already miss the sopranos. most tv shows are a joke, they always aim to the lowest common denominator for a laugh

I miss

He was Bull-dozing large tracts of pristine forrest before it was "un-cool". He didn't care what a few protesters thought. If he were around today, those schmucks in Vancouver wouldn't stand a chance.

How are the Flames games on radio?

You've never seen an episode of Flight of the Conchords, Modern Family or Big Bang Theory? Band of Brothers? Concerts on PBS in Hi-Def? Never saw the first few seasons of Battlestar?

I am of the opinion - only an opinion mind you - that is sad.

I'm missing re-runs of Get Smart and, lately, Hawaii Five-O. Everytime there is a modern movie re-creation of these old shows, the re-runs disappear from television.

Man, I miss "Captain Planet" and the PBS show "Ghostwritter."

Does anyone remember "Ghostwritter?" It's kinda hazy for me but I'm pretty sure I watched it as a kid and got the crap scared out of me by that purple slime monster...

Not to mention The Wire, Mad Men, Arrested Development, Generation Kill, which are consistently regarded as better than movies.

Right now is the golden age of TV.

I, also don't watch Television very much...I see Flames Games, and that's about it.

I am really busy in my free-time, and would rather be productive than put in the 2+(?) hours a night keeping up on shows that people seem to do.

My reasoning is that if shows are really worth my time, then in the future they will be available to me all at once via DVD, as well as be highly regarded. I see no value in watching the same ty Tim Horton's commercials 21 times an hour, or watching any of the "reality" trash that is so popular.

I have no doubt that some shows are better than movies, but I will partake on my schedule, which in a couple of years, will open up to include regular evenings for passive entertainment.

I don't think people are mindless for watching TV, I think they just have more free time than I do.

.
I don't watch commercials either . . . . . that's what a DVR is for. Get one.

I haven't watched Survivor for many seasons and have never been a fan of American Idol but a show like So You Think You Can Dance is significantly underrated for it's impact on modern culture, in particular the acceptance of dance among a broader, younger demographic.

I've never watched a season of The Amazing Race but I can also see it's importance in drawing an otherwise disinterested public into other culture's and countries.

I used to love Ghostwritter when I was younger. I also miss the Wonder Years and Who's The Boss.

My kids were watching the Disney Channel the other day and I was remembering Goof Troop and Duck Tales, I wish they were still around on reruns for my kids to see.

I wish they had given Southland more time to develop. Although it had run it's course, I do miss the antics on the Drew Carey Show. There are a lot of shows like that, that have run their course and were far less entertaining in their last few seasons. However, it would be fun to see a reunion or two.

And yeah, I remember Ghostwriter. And I remember how disappointed I was when I first watched it after mis-hearing my friend call it Ghost Rider.
