I didn't really like Sale and Pelletier doing the commentating with Rod Black. It felt a little too much like the Glen Healy School of Commentary, where everything led back to something about them, some little anecdote from their skating history. Obviously, they are there to use their experience and expertise to comment on the skaters, but seriously, every comment became something about them. "She smiles a lot." "I used to smile a lot too."
I also thought the comments about the outfits, while funny, were a bit much.
I enjoyed the skating though. Looking forward to the rest of it.

Which team's costumes were they commenting on?

Thanks. My wife and I are watching the games on NBC here. They have yet to show those skaters.
They are not show anything live. Rather, they are stretching the days events over their evening telecast. They jump between figure skating and luge and so on.
At least we caught Bilodeau's race live!

I love pairs figure skating. I find the athleticism to be unreal.
When a dude picks up a girl, hucks her across the ice, she spins two or three times in the air, and then lands on the edge of one skate?
That is pure athleticism.
After hockey, it is my personal favorite Olympic event, summer or winter.

Agree. I've been borderline emotionally unstable when it comes to the most trivial things involving Canada since the opening ceremonies.

I didn't even pick up on the fact that the crowd was chanting his name before it was announced he won. Honestly - what a great moment for him and for Canada!! It's such an awesome story too, how can you not get sucked into it?!

Are you talking about the hockey one, the "Remind them whose game they're playing" commerical? If so, I agree. I loved it in 2002, I love it now!
If you are not talking about that commercial, well, then this post is totally useless, cause I don't know what you are talking about...

That Coca-Cola commercial is totally epic. The words just keep coming at the screen, the music is pumping. "THIS IS OUR GAME".
ooooh, gives me shivers when I see it.

I have an important question my good friends:
Will all of the non Canadian hockey games be on tv? I sure hope I can watch them all. I can't wait to see the Russians!

I don't see why not. CTV has 3 channels, CTV, TSN, and Sportsnet. Plus there is NBC, and the German channel (ch.4). I am sure someone will show the game. And if any of those channels don't have you could always watch it online, I am sure CTV will stream it.
