Generally, if you are funded by the Canadian government for sport or academic scholarships, you aren't allowed to have an external job for more than about 10 hours a week. I know it's 10 hours for academic scholarships and assume it's something similar for sport.

I'd have no problem with someone who moves to a new country and becomes a passionate patriot of that new country. But from what I've seen of Begg-Smith, he defines himself more as anti-Canadian than pro-Australian. His disappointment seemed to be more about the fact that he didn't get to stick it to Canada.

You know what, I just watched the replay and you gotta be happy for a guy like Jamie Campbell, who got to call that. Listening to him call it, he was pretty excited.

Edit: Brian Williams just gave him credit for a great call.

Australia put him on their team and let him do thing his way as their talent pool wasn't nearly as deep. However, Begg-Smith's fortune has given him the free time and resources to get to the top of his sport.
So was he kicked off or did he quit?

The answer to that would help form an opinion on if he is a "traitor".

Im not sure what elese he's gonna be calling for Sportsnet after these games. He lost his job with the Jays, so who know what his future holds.

He had a great call last night and today as well. He's been great.

Well, his Wikipedia page says that the Canadian coaches told him that he was spending too much time on the business if he wanted to stay on the team, so he decided to quit the Canadian ski program.

Yeah, like I said earlier, I hadn't realized that he did that. That is really low.

But honestly this is not about him anyways.

BILODEAU IS KING OF THE MOGULS AND HE IS CANADIAN!!!!!!!!!!!

He's got to be the flag bearer for closing cermonies i'd imagine.

I've been tearing-up regularly since Friday. Olympics is one of the best things that humans do.

Haha, the announcers on this figure skating is hilarious. "Channeling their inner Avatar", when the two people in full blue outfits left the ice. Then the guy was like "just one word, Wrong, well maybe two, wrong and wrong." Then the other analyst started laughing "maybe their competition designed them".

Awesome.

^ Doesn't show exactly what Canadians are in each but it gives you an idea of what medal events are on for the day.

He left for Australia because they offered him more money for training, his software/malware company started a couple of years later I believe.

Simply put he is a traitor, he thought he was too good to have "share" the Canadian ski teams funds with less talented athletes. most of the team said good riddance you goof.
