I just solved a problem that clearly is making you angry.

I don't, avoid it at all costs. It's lightweight garbage, music for silly little girls.
I almost forgot about the creepy Canucks fan, who has a John Mayer picture as an avatar and a John Mayer quote in his sig, and whose screen name is Mayer. A bit much, don't you think?
Just a question, not meant to offend, but are you straight? If you're a homosexual then then it's all cool, nothing against you at all, would explain a lot and I'd like you a lot more as a poster.

Quality post.
No, it's not too much. It's a musician I like. Might as well have a picture of him if it's my username.
And yes, I'm straight. I honestly have no idea what that has to do with anything though. I appreciate talent and enjoy his music. That makes me gay? How old are you?

this post is laughable at best.
if we are going to call john mayer racist...what does this make you for labelling a poster and claiming that his posts reflect his sexual orientation?
closet homophobia at its finest.

I wouldn't label Mayer as another pop star in the disposable "Atomic Kittens" sense. John is very, very talented. He sings "Your Body is a Wonderland", "Daughters", "Waiting on the World to Change". I could go on, and I'm not even a huge John Mayer fan.

Trust me, it's a bit much and a little overboard.
No homophobia here, just asking a question but go ahead and freak out if it pleases you.

Is it? Being a fan of John Mayer is overboard? That is LULZTASTIC

Except he didn't freak out. He replied in a very thought out manner and was very level headed since you just tried to call him gay for liking John Mayer's musical talent.

Not sure I follow the alleged homophobia in Kryzsky's comments. I don't think Kryzsky was suggesting Mayer is gay for liking John Mayer's music, but rather that Mayer has a crush on John Mayer, which would explain the perceived fixation on John Mayer. Still, I do think the bolded part is humorous though.

Since when does enjoying someone's music and appreciating their talent get confused with having a crush?
5 years ago when I made my account I made Mayer my name. It wasn't until much later that I added the picture and signature. Figured I might as well keep a theme going.
I didn't realize it would offend "quality" posters like kryzsky.

I came into this thread all ready to mock John Mayer for his douchiness...
And then the interview was pretty tame, in the end. Not really sure what all the drama was about. Just a standard interview, with really pretty minimal sexual boasting considering the track record of who he's slept with.
Does he sound like someone I'd have drinks with? No. He didn't say anything to make me suddenly find him interesting.
But that's partly because I think his music is cookie-cutter crap, his voice is average and he uses his guitar mostly as a prop to make himself look "moody" on stage. He's just... not a great musician.
But... also not a ######bag--at least not if that interview is our only evidence. Really, the interview was kind of like his music. Bland, silly and a bit shallow. My reaction isn't outrage--it's just "meh."

Like I said earlier, thats opinion. Some people like him and some people don't, like any musician.
Believe it or not there are people that say Nickelback are good musicians. It's objective.

As much as I'd love to call Mayer a ######... he lays women like Ms Simpson.
I can't fault any man for that.

He did also drop the N bomb and accuse his penis of being a white supemacist because he won't have sex with black women.
Also, Mayer isn't gay, he just has a man crush.

Actually, their drummer Daniel Adair is an amazing drummer, but you'd never know by listening to Nickelback or his old band, 3 doors down.

I don't think it does. My point though was that I think that's what kryzsky benignly meant rather than 'if you like John Mayer, you're gay'. Anyway, not a big deal either way and I wasn't trying to offend you. I was just trying to clarify that kryzsky wasn't being homophobic, at least imo.

I don't think Nickelback really helps your cause here. Yes, some people like Nickelback. Those people have no taste.
Some people like John Mayer...

Thats a good point actually. I was more thinking of the guitarists and front man.

You can say that about anyone. There are a lot of musicians who are highly regarded who I think are garbage. It's all opinion.
