Protesters smashing windows
Protesters are apparently smashing windows in downtown Vancouver, about 200 of them. Why does that not surprise me with that city?

What?
how the hell can you blame the "city" for that?
In fact how do you even know that the donkeys perpetrating things are even from Vancouver?
That's like blaming NY for 9/11.
Just a ridiculous statement.

Yes, I am sure those protesters flew across the world to smash windows. Have you forgotten about the year the Canucks lost in the Stanley Cup finals? What is ridiculous is your 9/11 statement.

I think its unfair to paint the whole city under that brush. Although I agree with you, Vancouver does have a stronger activist and liberal culture than most other North American cities. Protests are fine... but once they start public disruptions and hindering public safety, they are going too far. At best, nobody is going to take them seriously... at worst you're going to get police retaliation in which the stupid protesters cry "police brutality."

Smashing windows would appear to be more of a sign of frustration by protesters, rather than protest itself.
The did their best to stop the games and failed.
The Olympics will go on, and the protesters will resurface in London.

One event does not define a city or the people who live in that city.

I love the Olympics but it should have never came to Vancouver.

They reported arrests have been made. I am not saying all the protesters are from Vancouver, I am saying I am not surprised that the violence is happening in the city given it's history.

I have absolutely no issue with painting Vancouverites with a broad brush. A very broad brush in fact.

Because the city was not prepared, this is not a 'winter' city by any stretch and from day one we knew these protests and riots would happen.

Did you even read my post above? I said it did not surprise me given the city, not where the protesters are from. Yes, please don't bother.

A lot of young street people in Vancouver originally came from other provinces. A lot of these protesters have also come in from the USA just to protest.
Just because these people decided to be idiots doesn't mean you have to be with your comments. Blaming an entire city for the actions of people that the rest of Canada doesn't want is not cool. Thanks for pissing me off more @#$%.

Geez, how can I put this so you can grasp what I am saying. I stated that I am not surprised given problems with people destroying things in the past that it is happening in Vancouver. It has nothing to do with the people of Vancouver!!!! If the Olympics were in Montreal I would be saying the exact same thing. A city that has a history of things being smashed during sporting events. Do you get it yet?

If anyone can ruin the fun for everyone, it's Vancouver Canucks fans.
