Default Olympic Party Thread

Thought we could use a thread about the tons of party options the Olympics bring.
Has anyone had a chance to check out any of the Country Houses yet?
Hoping to go to Irish house, or Russian house tonight and Heineken house soon.
If anyone goes to any good or bad places, please share your reviews in this thread. Good places to watch events is great useful info as well.

Let the extracurricular games begin...

Based on the Olympic Ceremony drinking game results.....Norway House needs to be your first stop. Then the Kiwis.

And remember, pics or it didn't happen.

Apparently Irish house is already lined up around the block, so leaning towards German house now.

The Heineken house in Torino was bad ass, I'm sure it will be a great time in Vancouver too

Very busy night. Went down to Granville and ended up at some crappy pub. Everything else had huge lines.
Anyone else have better luck?

Tried to get into the Heineken House tonight. It's in Richmond in the O-Zone.

The only people allowed in were people with Dutch passports. LOL. Special celebration for their gold medal winner.

Went to the french one in granville Island last night, not Quebec house but its something like place de francophonie, was really fun. Tons of people, live music (its french though) and a great atmosphere.

hear lots of good stuff about the Holland Heineken house, but its in Richmond and the lines are supposed to be extremely long. Might try to go there on a weekday night since there will be less locals going out those nights.

Might go to the German Saxson house, or the Irish house tonight

lineup wasn't bad and I went to the Irish house last night, we got in fairly quickly with a group of 5 people arriving there at like 1020

better than the french one on granville Island, I liked it a lot, best one I have been too

Do these houses charge for entry? Aside from Hockey House (which I believe is $100).

Went to Saskatchewan House, Atlantic Canada House and poked our head in Quebec House this weekend.

Saskatchewan House was rocking, just basically a beer tent but good band, lots of people and a rowdy atmosphere.

Atlantic Canada House was awesome and the best I went to, it was in a restaurant so only about 250 people but it was super fun, Ashley MacIsaac played and didn't piss on us - Shawn Majunder did a few minutes on the mic and it was a fun crowd with lots of cheers for the events.

Quebec House was just sad. It is basically 4 walls - we walked in and saw a pack of miserable looking people getting doused by the rain, no music, no drinks just a small coffee stand.

Spent a good 6hrs at the Irish House on the weekend, pretty awesome atmosphere. Basically stampede like tent but a much nicer and more places to get a seat. Trying to decide where to watch the CAN - NOR game tomorrow. Anyone been to the German house in Gastown?

Yep, when describing these things to friends, Im basically saying they are like Nashville North. Gotta get there mega early and stay all day in order to be there at night. 10x better and without the urine and stale beer smell!

I think I'm going to be watching the game and LiveCity Yaletown tomorrow then stay for Alexisonfire later on.

I was down there all weekend, didn't go to any houses but the clubs are all really good very packed. Buddy lives right by the Irish house and has said each night it has been overwhelmingly packed. I plan on checking it out soon as well.

I'm meeting up with friends after curling, but if we split up before 9:30 that's where I'll be headed too.
