Flying to Boston - Which airline?

I'm flying to Boston for 2 nights from Feb 24-26/27th and found the cheapest airlines are either Air Canada or Alaska. Of the two, which would you fly on?

I enjoy the entertainment on Air Canada, and have never been on Alaska. Seeing as it is a very long flight, entertainment + food are probably my biggest concerns.

Or are there other ones like United (heard was crappy)?

My sister lives out on Boston so I make a trip once year out there. I have travelled Air Canada which I was happy with, but I would also look at flying through Minneapolis as that seemed to feel like a shorter flight. Northwest Airlines flies through Minneapolis; however, I do not believe they have little entertainment systems as of yet.

Avoid US carriers like the plague!

Fly Calgary > Toronto > Boston on Air Canada if you can.

Only downside about Logan is Air Canada's terminal is a dump.

It's about $100 more expensive if I fly to Toronto.

If you are flying out of Toronto I recommend Porter. They just started flying to Boston this fall.

I like Air Canada modernized their inflight entertainment but Air Canada's food leaves a lot to be desired

AC food is irrelevant. I buy a sandwich at Tim Horton's and take it on board along with some fruit, veggies and energy bars. I'd go with the airline with the best price and schedule. It doesn't much matter to me, although I do like Westjet. You'll love Boston. I've been there and while it is a bit expensive, if you like history you'll love Beantown (but don't call it that when you're there). Check out the Paul Revere stuff and see if you can do a sidetrip to Capetown. Check out the black history stuff and some of the walking tours (some guided).

AC all the way over the American airlines, just for the AVOD system on the AC planes alone.

Delta and NWA merged so you will most likely fly thru Minneapolis or Detroit. Both are nice airports

AC through Toronto, or United/AC through Chicago. Only problem with Chicago this time of year is that bad weather really backs up that airport if a storm is anywhere near by.

Agreed,and start collecting Aeroplan miles,it's actually rated as one of the best programs out there.

Aeroplan is good for United, Air Canada/Jazz, US Air, and now Continental.

Just wondering what price you're seeing for Air Canada and Alaska, because from what I can see the Delta flights are the cheapest ($530 USD after taxes).

There are 3 flights that will get you there quicker.

#1 is a United flight that costs $1007. 13 hours, 50 min of total travel time.

#2 is another Delta flight that costs $687. 14 hours, 2 min.

#3 is an Air Canada flight that costs $692. 14 hours, 26 min.

The $530 flight mentioned above is 14 hours, 29 min.

The cheapest I found was Air Canada for $774.52 US. On Kayak it had it for $658 but I had to manually input it on the Air Canada website and it came out way higher.

I don't know of any American carrier that offer's inflight entertainment on domestic routes,could be wrong though.

It's set as 2 adults so you might need to change that if it's just yourself.

The one I mentioned should be the third one down.

Just checked Delta.com and can see it there as well for $551 CDN, that should be cheaper I would think, unless your credit card gives you an exchange rate of 4% or less, which I doubt.

Regarding the seatback entertainment, for a $200 difference in price you could probably buy a portable dvd player or Nintendo DS for less than that.
