I can't believe I'm getting ridiculed for eating cheap and convenient on a trip to New York to watch tennis and see the city... Wow.
You're getting ridiculed for dismissing the food in one of the culinary capitals of the world when you obviously didn't look into it for even a second.

If you give people the ammo, they will use it.

I have very little interest in food. I eat what is available.

I honest to god could not care any less about not eating at better restaurants (which btw, we ate some pretty freaking good places, Dinner was always at a restaurant, never fast food)

I do not, for a second regret not eating out more. We spent our money on much better things...

Were you walking around "seeing as much of NYC" as you could with your eyes closed? Because it appears that you failed to notice the abundance of non-typical American type restaurants there. Seriously, NYC has some of the most diverse food that you can find in the States.

I don't care if you don't appreciate good food while traveling, that's your own choice, but you seriously need to broaden your horizons a bit if you want to get anything out of the traveling you do.

Most of us don't go to NYC to try and relive our favourite Sex and the City episodes. But did you at least get some delicious cosmos?

You ate XL papa john's every night (yet had dinner at a restaurant every night) and have no regrets about looking elsewhere, and you're shocked at the direction of thread?

Yes. We had the Papa Johns past midnight and ate dinner at around 5-6ish.
Actually we ate pasta, sushi, chinese and indian when we were there but the fact of the matter is, when I visit a city in the USA, food is the least of my concerns.

I instead got to see a play on broadway, watch Nadal, Del Potro, Djokavic and Federer playing tennis, visited the top of the empire state, visited the statue of libery and ellis island (don't know how to spell that), visited the world trade center site, saw wall street, saw the brooklyn bridge, shopped in the greatest shopping area in the world, walked around central park all day, got really drunk in multiple stores on Fifth Ave for free, Watched Jack Black film a movie, Saw the chaos that is Radio City when the Mtv Video Awards are going on and did tons of other stuff.

Sorry that FOOD wasn't on my to-do list.

Couldn't all of this go in the original "dj_patm is an idiot" thread?

I mean, we're supposed to be talking about pizza in St. Louis, here.

Clearly then you didn't immerse yourself in the culture that is New York City. A modern day Roma if you will. To not immerse yourself in the Big Apples bosom is pretty dumb.
