Thank for Sutter or else I would've spent the last week and a half thinking about this game. Sunday just snuck up on me and it's been a nice break.

Colts 37
Saints 24

I would love to see the Saints win but the Colts are flat out a better team.

The way that Manning is playing right now it is hard to see him not playing a great game and not allowing his team to choke in this game.

Still a great season for the Saints but they just don't have enough to beat the Colts this year.

have to agree...i will be cheering like crazy for da Saints, but I just dont see ANY way that Manning allows the colts to lose this game with the way he is playing and his ability to see and play the game at a level unlike anyone else in the league.

Yeah so sleeping tonight isn't happening! I was just watching Colts coverage on ESPN and they were talking about Colts drafting as a reason they are so good. Look at this:

1998 NFL Draft:

(Round 1, Pick 1, Peyton Manning)

1999 NFL Draft:

(Round 1, Pick 4, Edgerrin James)
(Round 7, Pick 210, Hunter Smith)

2000 NFL Draft:

(Round 1, Pick 28, Rob Morris)

2001 NFL Draft:

(Round 1, Pick 31, Reggie Wayne)
(Round 4, Pick 118, Ryan Diem)

2002 NFL Draft:

(Round 1, Pick 11, Dwight Freeney)

2003 NFL Draft:

(Round 1, Pick 24, Dallas Clark)
(Round 5, Pick 138, Robert Mathis)

2004 NFL Draft:

(Round 2, Pick 44, Bob Sanders) - Colts never had a 1st round pick

2005 NFL Draft:

(Round 1, Pick 28, Marlin Jackson)
(Round 2, Pick 60, Kelvin Hayden)
(Round 5, Pick 173, Tyjuan Hagler)

2006 NFL Draft:

(Round 1, Pick 30, Joseph Addai)
(Round 2, Pick 62, Tim Jennings)
(Round 6, Pick 199, Charlie Johnson)
(Round 6, Pick 207, Antoine Bethea)
(Round 7, Pick 238, TJ Rushing)

2007 NFL Draft:

(Round 1, Pick 32, Anthony Gonzalez)
(Round 2, Pick 42, Tony Ugoh)
(Round 4, Pick 136, Clint Session)
(Round 7, Pick 242, Keyunta Dawson)

2008 NFL Draft:

(Round 2, Pick 59, Mike Pollak) - Colts had no 1st round pick
(Round 3, Pick 93, Phillip Wheeler)
(Round 4, Pick 127, Jacob Tamme)
(Round 6, Pick 202, Mike Hart)
(Round 6, Pick 205, Pierre Garcon)
(Round 7, Pick 236, Jamey Richard)

2009 NFL Draft:

(Round 1, Pick 27, Donald Brown)
(Round 3, Pick 92, Jerraud Powers)
(Round 4, Pick 127, Austin Collie)
(Round 7, Pick 222, Pat McAfee)

Minus the 1999 Players selected (James was a long time Colt who had good success in the organization and Hunter Smith who was the Colt punter up until this past year) will be in the game tomorrow(Sanders, Jackson and Hagler are all starters on defense but injured and Gonzo is a starter on offense but injured)! I am really liking the 2009 draft a year later. Obviously 1998 and picking Peyton was huge, but 2001-2007 were all really successful for Indy with some franchise/pro bowl players players (Wayne, Mathis, Freeney, Sanders, Clark, Bethea). That doesn't include some of the up and comers like the rookies (Collie, Garcon, McAfee, Powers and Brown) and good late picks (Session and Johnson).

My buddy hates Manning so much that I have no choice but to go for the Colts in this one.

I'm hoping for a last minute stab in the heart like last year, where the bad guy (he hates Roethlisberger, too) comes along and snatches the game when it looks like it's already in the history books.

Doesn't bother me one bit dude. With you being a Patriot fan of course you should take satisfaction in the Colts losing. That is a given. I just don't understand how things get directed at Peyton. If not for Peyton, this team gets nowhere near the Superbowl to begin with.

But he's the greatest QB in the history of the whole world, right? That's why things are directed at Manning, because of him being forced down everyone's throat.

A Favre/Manning Super Bowl would have made me eat a bullet...

He would have inched closer had he won the game today but with the loss, he needs to win a couple more SB's to get that status. He will have all the statistical records, but he needs to come back and win another Super Bowl or 2 to have that title.

I agree Oilfan. I just got tired of hearing about the awesomeness of Peyton Manning and his place in history before they even played the game.

Saints went through Warner, Favre, and Manning. That is a well deserved championship.

Congrats to Troutman on calling the final score!
