I preorded this from Amazon, but now I see it won't be arriving today

Maybe I'll buy it from FS instead.

I only watched the first two seasons, then got out of it, so I've been waiting for the blu-ray to start watching again.

I'm not a blue-ray snob so my season 4.5 is on the way . . . .

Anyone know when Battlestar "The Plan" is going to be aired? I thought it was mid-summer.

I finally watched the Caprica pilot movie and liked it a lot . . . . . sort of an ominious build-in to the coming series and again, starring very imperfect characters.

Coincidinkly, on Entertainment Weekly's site today, Kara Thrace was named a Sci-Five Fave you'd want as a buddy - apparently to drink with because otherwise she'd be damned scary to hang with.

sounds like the plan won't air to November.

While I watched Caprica, I liked it, but it didn't strike the same "God this is great" cords that the series did. I found that I really didn't like many of their characters all that much and was praying for the creation of the Cylons so they could start killing all humans.

Does that box set have the movies?

I've only seen the premiere special and some of season 1 - will this catch me up?

I really wonder what "SyFy" is thinking. Caprica pilot of DVD months early, The Plan on DVD before it airs. Do they even want us to watch TV?

Obviously Maxim knows the ins and outs of RDM's carrer and it was a tongue in cheek reference....Or they just assumed all sci fi is the same.

"The Plan" is released on DVD today.

At Entertainment Weekly's site today, "12 Things You Need To Know About Cylons"

http://www.ew.com/ew/gallery/0,,20314770,00.html

A few days ago, the Battlestar cast were at The Scream Awards in LA for some interviews where Edward James Olmos says this:

"If you want to try something, go do this: Watch the entire run of 'Battlestar' from beginning to end and at the end, in those last moments when Six says to Baltar, 'It's all going to happen again' and Baltar says, 'No I think maybe this time humanity has learned,' after that, as they go walking off into Times Square, put in 'Blade Runner' and watch it. 'Battlestar' finishes in 2008 and 'Blade Runner' starts in 2019. There's a lineage there. Gaff becomes the direct descendant of Adama, and the lineage is so pure they resemble each other."

http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/hero...awards--1.html

Finally, a middling but probably fair review of The Plan. It didn't look spoilerific to me but . . . . .

A) I picked up that issue of Maxim and Daaaaammmnnnn

B) I've seen some reviews of the Plan that just aren't that positive, they refer to it as a clip show where nothing really new happens. I'll probably pick it up anyways, but it seems strange to have a Battlestar without Apollo and Starbuck involved.

Actually on the cover the small print says "Yes, Nerds, we know that's Star Trek"

Razor > The Plan. I splurged for the Blu Ray, which I really shouldn't have. I was pretty stoked to have the blanks filled in. But after seeing it, I don't think I needed to really. Part of it I wish would have synced better if they had convinced Lucy Lawless to appear, as shes not in it. But the do briefly pay her lip service. Although there is some great FX stuff with the nuking of the Colonies.

Slightly off topic isn't Jane Espenson the show runner for Caprica(Then again after BSG I'm starting to think that RDM might be a better writer than show runner himself.)? She wrote a clunker or two during Season Four and wrote The Plan. Neither of which knocked my socks off. But hey, I know Caprica is quasi soap in prime time so maybe I can live with that.

I have not seen a single episode of the new Battlestar Galactica. Not one.

I am anal about watching thing in order. So I watched the 1978 "Complete Epic Series" with Lorne Greene and Dirk Benedict (Face) except for the last two DVDs. So I guess next would be the 1980 short-lived revival (10 episodes, Lorne Greene + mostly new cast). And then I guess I go on to the new series. But I am lost there.

There is something called "BG: The Miniseries", "BG: Season 1", "BG: Razor", "BG: The Plan".... or can I forget all this and just go with "BG: The Complete Series in Bluray"?

The complete series will include the miniseries (a long first episode) and the bluray boxset also includes Razor. I don't think/don't know if it includes the Plan, and it does not include the series currently airing on Space.

The boxset is the way to go.

Just get the complete series in Blu Ray.

The order I watched was:
BG: The Miniseries was the first 3 hour "pilot".
BG: Season 1-4
Razor is the sidetrack which covers the backstory of the Pegasus and Admiral Cain (which you are familiar with due to the old series)

Finally - The Plan - the whole deal told from the Cylon perspective in a couple hours. Mostly a clips show.

After all that, you could watch Caprica if you want to watch a lame spinoff done by people who didn't work on BSG that doesn't have any of the BSG feel to it, and plays like "Vancouver 90210"
