Heat injury problems, thin on the D-Line.

Duane Sutter said during the first intermission of tonight's game (Feb. 3) that:
 - Negin has a broken wrist

 - Palin a shoulder injury?

 - Pelech is likely out for the rest of the season with an injury

 - ...and of course Aulie is gone.

They're lookin' a little thin on the D-Line.

Luckily for the Heat, Josh Meyers has been phenomenal, along with Seabrook.

Can anyone elaborate on the injuries? I didn't catch all of what Duane said.

Regarding Pelech, I feel like I heard that it has something to do with blood clots? Can't remember where I heard this, maybe on the Fan. Anyone know if that is the case?

Palin's been out for a while, not sure when he's expected back though.

Negrin was the biggest offensive performer off of the blue line (besides Seabrook), and a broker wrist?
Hope that doesn't effect that wicked slap shot he's got.

Once you break a wrist, it's going to be weak for a long long time.

This is a whole lot of crappy news.
How has Kronwall been playing down there?

Yeah, I forgot about Kronwall. Duane said he's been doing great. I haven't been able to go to too many games because they've been on the road for a while.

I heard the same interview last night. I thought I heard Duane say that Palin had a concussion. Everything else you said is dead on.

According to the flames website he has a pinched nerve in his shoulder.

That's it? A pinched nerve?

You'd think he wouldn't be out for as long as he has been or is expected to be (as Duane said).

borrowed I believe. Don't think Anaheim has an affiliate team.

This is correct

It's the same reason why Boynton was assigned to the Moose, Mikkelson is playing with the Marlies, and Sexton went to the Moose instead of returning to the Duck's ECHL team

It's a very unfortunate situation for the Ducks that Samuelli broke the rules by using the Iowa Chops as collateral.

I'll be going to the Marlies / Heat game on the 15th. Can't wait to see some of these guys in person. Although, wth a depleted blueline, should my expectations still be high?

You'll still get to see Baldwin, Seabrook, erm.... Meyers (he has actually been pretty good this year) on the blue line.
Sutter, Jaffray... uhh... thats probably it for decent forwards though.

 the team really sucks.

That's too bad. I can't wait until we can populate that roster with some promising prospects coming up here. Can't wait to see the likes of Mitch Wahl, Ryan Howse, Lance Bouma, Gaelen Patterson, T.J. Brodie and Greg Nemisz playing for Abbotsford.

Obviously the Flames roster is full now, so in the short-term that bodes well for Abbotsford. Backlund will come back for the Olympic break, and it's possible Lundmark goes back down. Next year should definitely be an interesting year for the Heat personnel-wise.

Well, Nemisz, Bouma, Wahl, Brodie will all be in Abby, but Patterson and Howse will probably still be in the CHL next year.
Making the leap next year to the NHL could be a couple people, Backlund I bet will be up full time. Baldwin, Pelech, Negrin, and I'm gonna go out on a limb and say Brodie and Wahl could all compete for a spot next year.

Howse would have to have a fantastic playoffs and then training camp in the summer to even be considered, but he is definitely the most promising offensive prospect we have in our system.

The kid is amazing, people don't get to see him much, but I have watched him probably 8 times and he absolutely carries his team every night. PP, PK, even strength, the kid does it all.

The Euro kids i have no idea about though.
