What was the text of the email, and what was the response?

I saw your post over at HF... glad it was the first reply.

I don't post at HF.

I just mentioned that the demos on NHL.com has the Canucks scoring on the Flames at the end of them.

Rob Kerr asked the question and the response was they are working on one for each team that will be featured on Jumbotrons across the league and on team sites.

The game ships out on Thursday and will be available on the 6th for anyone who is interested.

I just checked on IGN.com for the release of NHL 2k6 (the superior game, IMO) and noticed that NHL 2006 was due out Sept. 13th.

NHL 2k6 and that Wayne Gretzky 2006 are both out on the 6th - maybe you got them confused?

So, like, what did the EA guy say? Most other posts titled "So and So Up Next on The Fan" contain some kind of synopsis for us poor fools who can' listen at work...

Nothing really new that anyone who has followed the game's development doesnt already know. All they really asked him about were stuff like how accurate the rosters would be and if updates would be available, if they needed to do alot of tweaking to put the new rules in, .etc. One question I'm surprised never came up though I pretty much know the answer to was whether the salary cap would be put in.

Ah, sorry. I meant to say some dude with a blog's site.

Anyways, so let me get this straight. On the Vancouver jumbotron they're going see their virtual players scoring on our virtual players for each demo clip? Well, in a way I guess I'm happy because if I were a Van fan that would only remind me about the team's last encounter with the Flames (recalling with smug satisfaction Operation Jerome away from Home). As for our demos, I suppose it'll be our guys scoring on Edmonton? Tampa perhaps? I'd rather the Greasers to be honest...

EA's game was delayed a week I believe for the implementation of the new rules and such, and as a result I think will be available in most stores around the 13th or 14th.

The guy they interviewed said next week. Also, if you check different online stores you will see the release date is September 6th-9th. I have it pre-ordered from Futureshop and up until last week the release date was September 13th but now it's September 9th which according to Futureshop.ca is 2-3 days after it's official release.

Did this get moved? I thought I posted in the Fire and Ice section. Not to be a pain in the ass, but I don't see how this isn't any less hockey related then McCarty cards from UD and a thread about Hazel May. Again I'm not trying to start shinguard but for the future, I would like to be able to follow along and contribute like the nice guy that I am.

The guy did say that they are being shipped out, from Asia I presume, on Thursday and you will be able to find them by the 6th.

I heard about an interesting feature in Madden, where you get to play a franchise mode from the perspective of 1 player, instead of a manager. Does anyone know if NHL will have this?

ya superstar mode. pretty neat, you pick your parents, based on their iq and job, it gives ur guy their attributes. then you are a rookie u get drafted to a team. go to traning camps get deals with sponsors, while playing the season. u'll see you guy hilighted in games so u kno he's playing.

nhl will not have it.

Why does EA treat NHL like its red-headed step child? I know they make more money from madden but how hard would it be to implement the same features across the line?
