Yeah because an offense with Fitzgerald, Boldin, Breaston, and an emerging Beanie Wells is going to simply fall apart without Warner.

Yep, pretty much.
See the Denver Broncos for a comparable, and frankly Kyle Orton is a better QB than Matt Leinart.

Thats comparably to saying the Colts wouldn't miss Peyton Manning because they have Wayne, Clark, Garcon, and Gonzalaz.

And the NFL offseason police blotter has begun.

Did I say they wouldn't miss Warner? Of course they would, but they still have some of the best skill position talent in the league. Put an average QB with them and there's going to be points.

A comparable? Marshall might be in Fitzgerald's league, but Royal/Gaffney aren't exactly in Boldin/Breaston's class. And I'll take Wells/Hightower over Moreno/Buckhalter every day of the week.
Orton is a better QB than Leinart, but I'd be pretty surprised if Leinart was obvious starter going into the season.

Should be interesting to see what the Cards do with their first round pick now. They have the skill players in place, and a decent enough line where it would seem like a good situation for a young QB to come in and produce. But maybe Leinart is better suited to step in and keep the team competitive.
Either way I don't think a team with a guy like Ken Whisenhut coaching them is going to drop off the face of the Earth. They may continue to evolve style wise into a tougher more physical team which they already started doing. But I don't think they're going to go back to being a 5 win team every year. They'll be competitive.

whoa whoa whoa. Lets not get crazy.
Warner does not equal Manning in any way. Peyton is an on-field HC, basically.

I don't think they're in the market for a tight end.
Although one thing I'll say in Teebows defence is that I think the guy will put in the required work to get better. I don't think he'll pull the Jamarcus take the money and run. He's not going to be able to play as an every down quarterback right away. But if he mentored under a good veteran with good coaching for 2 seasons he may turn out to be a decent pick. Not the type of guy you neccessarily want to spend a first round pick on, but maybe not a bad gamble as a 2nd rounder for a team with a longer term need.

Well, am I supposed to assume they'll have some shiny new starter or something?
Right now, it's Leinart and that's what I based my statement on.
Put Warner on the Broncos this past season and they're a playoff team. Easily.

He seems to have his head on straight, in that he knows he needs to change his entire mechanics to be sucessful in the NFL. Whether or not he can do that, is a whole different question.
But I think SOMEONE will take him in the first round, which team that may be is a mystery to me.

The Warner retirement is official. His religious stuff can get in the way, but if you filter it all out it is a pretty good story. I don't know if a lot of people would have had the mental toughness to keep pushing forward everytime he got released, or cut. Would have been pretty easy to give up, but he never did and I can admire a guy for that. You can't question his toughness as he would stick in the pocket as long as he had to and still throw a pin point passes. His performance against Green Bay these past playoffs was spectacular.

Strangest HOF career ever?
Definitely one of the classiest guys in pro sports though. I'll miss watching him play.

Now a huge off-season starts for the Cardinals.
Can Wisenhunt and staff create a new offensive scheme to fit for Leinhart?
Will Boldin be traded to a team desperate for a WR?
Will the Cardinals bring in a veteran QB to compete with Leinhart or as a backup?
Will the Cardinals draft a young QB?
What will they do with Antrell Rolle's inflated salary in 2010?

Now Brandon Marshall is saying he would love to stay in Denver....forever....
http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com...eer-in-denver/
I don't think there's a chance, but I'm very surprised to hear him say that...whether he means it or not.
