Its Ok Cheese....at your age Sin City probably just wasn't your kind of movie.

Saw the 40 yr old Virgin - hilarious movie, kind of has an "Office Space" low budget, nerd comedy feel to it, but a lot of funny lines and physical comedy. May not appeal to all women though.
|
I'm a chick, I liked it. I love Steve Carrell. I can't recall anything in it that would offend or make women uncomfortable. There was some topless scenes, but hell, there's topless scenes in just about every movie you see.

well, Cheese, if I remember correctly, don't you pretty much hate comic book moveis anyway? And Sin City is the ultimate comic book movie. It follows the graphic novel perfectly (yeah, I liked it). So why would you waste time renting it in the first place? That's like me renting a Hugh Grant movie and being disappointed because it's a cheesy romantic comedy.

I thought Sin City was great, I watched it expecting a crappy Spiderman/Hulk type movie. But I was shocked to find that it was 1000x better than I thought it would be. My personal favorite is Marv's story though, I love that scene where he comes out with the hatchet on those cops is a great action scene too.

Can you dig it?
Classic movie "The Warriors" is coming out on dvd with the much ballyhooed "Director's Cut".
http://www.thewarriorsondvd.com/
Even better, depending on your preference, is that the film got the Rockstar Games treatment and is now a video game.
http://www.rockstargames.com/thewarriors/index.html
It's always been a dream of mine to have a fistfight with a Baseball Fury and now I can.
This is all just fantastic news.

ALERT!
More Warriors news. Not only are they giving the movie the DVD treatment and making a video game, MTV Pictures is actually doing a remake!
I don't know how I feel about this, as it'll probably be lame. But you never know. A writer for the Sopranos is writing the movie so it might not be a flick for the kiddies so that's a start.
Anyhow, this http://warriorsmovie.co.uk/remake/ website is a little confusing. In one line they say "Before you get your hopes up, it isn't a strict remake and is only loosely based on the original movie (probably some gang being hunted by some other gangs!)." and then in the very next paragraph it says "Scott's version will follow the outline of the first film -- in which a gang leader is assassinated during a truce, and The Warriors, wrongly accused of the assassination, must make their way home through hostile gang territories...
So, well I don't know what that all means.
Tony Scott who did Clay Pigeons, Top Gun and a few others you'd know is the director.

Ressurecting the movie thread with news that a sequel to The Dark Crystal is in production.
Read all about it at Muppet Central News:
"Set hundreds of years after the events of the first movie when the world has once again fallen into darkness, Power of the Dark Crystal follows the adventures of a mysterious girl made of fire who, together with a Gelfling outcast, steals a shard of the legendary Crystal in an attempt to reignite the dying sun that exists at the center of the planet."
The Dark Crystal was one of those movies that absolutely captivated my imagination as a kid when it came out. I've resisted going back to rewatch it as there is no way the movie would be able to live up to my memory of it, but a well made sequel would be really exciting. And by well made I mean not a George Lucas CGI-diarrhea fest.
Luckily it looks like that won't happen: ". . . . the CG animation elements that will be incorporated with the film’s live-action animatronic characters."

Couple thoughts, having just now skimmed thru this thread
Joker for Batman Begins - saw this elsewhere, don't know if it's an actual rumor or just someone's idea, but they had suggested/reported that Michael Keaton himself might play Joker. He would own that.
Deuce Bigalow sequel - haven't seen the movie, heard it's awful, but I guarantee the movie isn't as funny as roger ebert's review.
www.rogerebert.com
search for it, check it out, pretty good.
My 2 favorite movie critcis to read, by far, are Roger Ebert and Outlaw Vern. Vern has some hilarious reviews on his sight, some good reviews off-hand that I've recently read are his "fight club" and "wedding crashers" reviews.

That's a totally messed up and old rumor. Even though Keaton (as per Beetlejuice) would make an excellent joker. The odds are on Paul Bettany right now for Joker. CNN also claimed that Jake Glynenall would be playing Dent, the district attorney that becomes two-face in the 3rd movie (some fans don't like that choice, want Liev Schriber instead).

Keaton is probably just an idea someone made up, but he could be outstanding in that role.

Taken from imdb.com about The Joker
Quote:
Batman Hits Australia for Villains?
The sequel to Batman Begins could become an Australian affair now that Hugo Weaving and Hugh Jackman are in the running to play villains. The two Aussie movie stars are the latest names linked to play The Joker and Harvey 'Two Face' Dent in the upcoming superhero adventure, according to moviehole.net. Producers are yet to nail down a firm list of candidates for Two-Face, but Firewall star Paul Bettany and another Aussie, Lachy Hulme, are reportedly being considered for the role of The Joker.
|
Hugo Weaving would actually be a fantastic choice. I'm a big Hugh Jackman fan but with the 3 X-Men movies and a Wolverine movie coming down the pipes I doubt he wants to do another comic book movie.

UPDATE: Spiderman 3
Sounds like Spiderman's gonna be wearing a black suit.
I'm guessing start out with Sandman, gets the simbiate (sp?) and defeats Sandman, and towards the end of the movie, the simbiate passes to Eddie Brock?

Front page of the official website.
I sure hope they take the whole movie to set up the character of Eddie Brock.
I will be mega-****ed if they rush it.
...
Yahooo!
