Yeah, Chopper Gunner is pretty much lawnmower mode if you can prevent the other team from locking on with 9 different Stingers from around the map.
Why can't I ever be on that team?
Playing long enough, I pretty much made myself a dedicated anti-air class (stingers + scavenger perk) + LMG + Cold blooded).
I've been on some matches where the other team seems to keep getting all sorts of air support and just dominate the match. At least this way, I get points for shooting all their stuff down
I love this game...............but I am curious about online gaming. I have never done it before.
What kind of connection speed do you need to set it up?
Does anyone know a website that explains how online gaming works?
I want to learn how it works....

Matters if you're doing console/PC. I play on an Xbox360 and its literally plug and play (after you pay your xbox live fee of course)...I believe you need a DSL/Cable or higher connection.

Get high-speed internet, plug cable from xbox/ps3 to router, or if you have wireless, do it that way. It is really easy to set-up. Do you have xbox or PS3, I can tell you how to set it up.

Oh thank you! I have a PS3..........guess I shoulda mentioned that.
I have telus internet, but not the fastest connection they offer. I have the-middle-of-the-road speed I think.....

Do you by chance have WiFi, or is your ps3 reasonably close to your computer? Right out the gate your situation is somewhat better with the PS3. The PS3 online features aren't as robust as the 360 offering, but it's free which is good for people just screwing around.

You should be fine then. If at all possible, a direct connection to the internet-PS3 is best instead of relying on the wireless network. Just from experience for lag issues. The game does a good job of maintaining a decent connection however it will boot you out if there are network issues

My PS3 is nowhere near my computer...
To make things worse, my old house has no phone jack near my home entertainment set-up.
WiFi........is that when you buy those little USB things that give you internet access?

Yeah.....no phone jack near my TV/PS3.........
So do I have to go out and buy some equipment then?

You don't need a phone jack.
Sounds like the easiest solution for you (without spending too much money) is to buy a wireless router. I think they're around $70 these days. They usually come with a CD that will explain step-by-step how to set it up, but basically you have an ethernet cable running from the modem into the router and then from the router into the PC. Install the drivers from the CD, name your network, setup your password and then you're done.
After that go to your PS3 and go under Network Settings and scan for wireless network, it should find the one you set up. Select that one, enter your password and you should be good to go. Try signing into the playstation network under the main menu. If it connects, you're golden. Note that if you've never connected your playstation to the internet before it'll probably make you do a system update (there's another menu for that) before you can connect to the playstation network.
After you're all up to date just start the game as normal and go to the multiplayer menu, then select play online.
You know what I hate... when I get a little antsy to play, and keep hitting the A button and it goes straight into campaign mode. Because I haven't played that at all, it goes right to the intro that you can't exit out of. I end up restarting my console because I get so damn tired of waiting for it. I'm so impatient that every time i've done it, i never make it through the intro. So long... goddamn.

you have to hook the wireless router to your modem but then you wont have a cord running from your modem to the PS3. I used to have this problem and a wireless router was the excellent solution.
Just go to Bestbuy and tell them you needs a LINKSYS wireless router to play your PS3 online. You go home and put the CD that comes with the router in your computer and it walks you through the setup. It even has each step in pictures to make it that much easier !
I'm selling my xbox and going PS3. All my friends are going ps3 so I'm jumping ship also.
