That reminds me... I bought a $500 watch from a guy in a back alley one night. He told me that if the battery ever dies, I should come back and find him for a replacement.
I wonder if he's still there...
(Edit: Sorry, I'm sure everything will be fine... just when I think of Visions, I think of a guy in a back alley selling things out of his coat.)

They will send you a letter. You use the letter to redeem your discount.
I was surprised when I got mine, I forgot all about it. It worked fine.

Wow, never heard of that before - knowing visions I'd be skeptical, but good luck!

Anyone have any experiences with this warranty?

You get in-store credit not CASH. They will send you a letter.

I was just feeling the same run-around, but got my credit and bought a new TV with it this weekend. What I finally did was call the store and they took care of it.
They recently changed their system, so now it's not automatically sent to you, you actually have to apply for it online. There may even be a place right on their website for you to apply directly. Only took a couple of days to hear back once it was finally applied for online.
Hope that all helps!

I don't know why people hate Visions so much. It's one of the few places you can actually go in and use your negotiation skills.
I would buy a TV from Visions or Soundsaround before any big box stores...

I had no problems getting mine. The letter also had another 10% discount (I think) if I used my credit within the next x weeks. Pretty sweet if you ask me. Visions is great for negotiating, unlike FS which blows.

Wow. How ironic.
Just last night I was going through all the receipts which I have kept over the years for high dollar value purchases and stumbled upon a few Visions ones which would qualify for this.
However, some are for purchases made almost 10 years ago. LOL. I wonder if there is a time limit when you have to claim and if you don't claim in time, the money is forfeited.
Looks like I'll have to apply for the money back and find out!

They send you store credit in the mail for the value of the warranty.
I got almost $900 worth last year and used it in the fall towards the purchase of a new entertainment system.
Had no problems whatsoever.

It no longer comes in the mail, you have to apply for it on their website.
If you have purchased the extended warranty in the past, DO NOT wait for your credit to come in the mail - it won't.

Thanks for this thread, reminded me that I have a store credit over there, my TV warranty expired maybe 6 months ago.

I'm thinking of selling my flat screen tv that I purchased at Visions. I know the warranty is transferable, but I'm wondering if the store credit will be transferable as well? (I know I should just call and ask)
Would it seem fair to add this in to the cost of the TV? I put in $400 for the extended warranty. Since that value doesn't depreciate, I should be able to sell the warranty dollar for dollar. Does this seem right or am I being unreasonable??

I wouldn't go dollar for dollar, since you would only be receiving "store credit"...(and some people don't like shopping at visions)
80ish % of the value is fair, imo.

^Good point.
But $1 = $1. IMO, it's like i've deposited $400 in the "Vision's Bank." I get that full $400 back (in store credit) barring I, or the new owner, have no problems with my tv. I can't justify selling $400 for $320.

If I was buying the TV from you, I wouldn't give you $200 for that warranty.
Many people do not like buying extended warranties. And the reason Visions offers a store credit is they are banking on a good number of people not remembering/ not keeping the paperwork/ not caring.
Depending on the age of the TV, you might be better off not transferring the warranty, and then claiming the $400 yourself later on. (Of course give the buyer the option.)

Waiting for my letter in the mail, thanks to dubc80 for the link.
I have $369 coming back to me, can I walk in the store and grab something of that value or do they make you spend a certain amount above your refund?

Keep in mind that the store credit can only be used towards regular priced items in the store. At least that was Visions' rule a year ago when I cashed in an unused warranty. The best way to use the credit is to buy things that don't normally have deep discounted sale prices. (e.g. TV stands, wall mounts, etc.)
