i think if Conan does move to Fox, his ratings would be pretty big, at least at the start. his Tonight Show ratings have improved by over 50%, and with that many people watching him at his absolute best (Conan has never been funnier than he is right now), i think interest in a new show of his would be very high. it would be up to him to see how he could maintain such a high level when all the drama goes away. i stopped watching The Tonight Show because it got stale. he kept reusing the same unfunny bits (twitter tracker, vampire and wolfboy assistants, celebrity survey) and there was nothing edgy or unique about his show. hopefully if he ends up on Fox he gets more freedom and can go back to a Late Night vibe, and i really hope he moves back to New York

So Conan has to wait until September before he could join another network?
If I'm reading that right, that's too bad. I think by September this will be old news, and he won't be able to capture the buzz he has now when starting something new.

"fox" would need to 'build' conan a new studio. the staff and writers need to come up with all new material (since nbc has everything under ip).
"fox" also needs to shuffle their line up. september is when new shows/seasons premiere. current shows on the new network may have contracts that end in september anyways. what, is the new network just going to end someone's show mid-season.

I C, don't watch too much TV and don't know how the season schedules work. Makes sense, hopefully they can build him a good show and time slot if he does go Fox.

Fox doesn't have any actual Fox programming to end mid season (even though they are experts at cancelling). After the news on Fox affiliates, most affiliates just run whatever syndicated programming they feel like. There are no Fox shows that run after 11:30.
Conan can slot right in when they talk to their affiliates.
For instance, tonight the schedule for KAYU is
11:00 Fox News
11:30 The Office
12:00 TMZ
12:30 My Name Is Earl
They're playing NBC shows!

they may not have fox shows for KAYU, but they do in other markets. i think it is simpsons and tmx after the news where i am.
besides, those shows are under contract for syndication up until a certain date. that is what i meant by 'current shows'. they will have to be moved or bought out of contract.
either way, i hope conan and crew all the best.
oh and i thought it was funny that during the rally/protest they purposely showed a fan hold a "Conan is a FOX" sign.

Don't forget, KAYU is also in the Pacific Time Zone, so all those times are are actually an hour later than what the actual schedule is. If Conan was on at 11:00-12:00, all they'd be cutting out is TMZ and My Name Is Earl.

You know, if Conan goes on Fox, I'd like to see him return to NYC (provided that's what his family wanted). He's an East coast guy and never fit in in Cali.

something like 180 of 210 fox stations are individually owned though, not by the network. And they have full control over what to air outside of prime time and special events (sports).
so they would have to get everyone to agree to change their lineup and allow Conan to have his own show. Which some are hesitant of because they make money showing reruns, and it would be a risk.

I've become less and less a fan of Robin Williams over the years but he was awesome tonight. A must watch for sure.

Robin Williams the actor is not what he used to be, but Robin Williams the comedian is alive and well.
I'm watching right now, can't wait for him to come out (on stage haha) .

Letterman and Leno go after each other:
http://jam.canoe.ca/Television/2010/...562761-ap.html
"I'm telling jokes and making fun of Jay Leno over and over and over, relentlessly, mercilessly simply for one reason," Letterman said on Monday's show before pausing and smiling hugely: "I'm really enjoying it."
On the prime-time "The Jay Leno Show," Leno has punched back. In particular, he's using as ammunition Letterman's admission last year of having had affairs with members of his staff.
"Letterman has been hammering me every night," Leno said on Wednesday's show. "You know the best way to get Letterman to ignore you? Marry him. He will not bother you. He won't look you in the eye."
Doug Spero, an associate professor of mass communication at Meredith College in North Carolina and a former TV news director and NBC employee, said the back-and-forth between Leno and Letterman works as both "self-promotion and cross-promotion."

No, I get it, it's the "cool" thing to do hating Jimmy Fallon.
But his show is hilarious, despite what the herd says.
