The FAL gives me the best of both worlds. Less kick than an automatic weapon, but significantly more range than a shotgun. Don't get me wrong once I get further in the game I will be wielding the dual shotgun but for the time being the best shotgun I have is a striker and it just doesn't cut it for me.

Is the FAL a one hit kill in close range?
The stats on the game is bloody useless.

I tap the trigger pretty fast and seem to do well against full automatics. It works better at close range though because you have to be somewhat accurate, whereas with fully automatic guns you can just spray your opponent from a distance.
|
Pretty much what anyonebutedmonton said. Put a red dot on it, and you can pretty much snipe with it. You can shoot pretty fast by tapping the fire button. For close range though, I switch to a pistol or shotgun. I don't have too much luck using the Masterkey shotgun attachment. I'll switch to the M-16 as soon as I unlock it

I agree that's incredibly frustrating. That's why I only use the shotgun inside tight spaces. As soon as I have more than 15 feet of space, I switch back to primary. If I forget to switch back or don't do it fast enough and run into that situation I'll chuck a grenade and hope for the best because I know the shotgun isn't going to cut it. Even if you miss with the grenade, if you're close enough that he has to move out of the way, it'll at least buy you some time to go hide and switch back to primary.

I just use the first shotgun whatever you call it. It works decent for me. Just don't miss with the first shot because it takes a while to rack it for the second shot. I get a lot of kills with it in scrapyard, when I'm in those plane shells or whatever they are.

I"m a huge fan of the ACOG on my M16. I can rip through guys pretty good.
Finally got the tactical knife for my pistol so I went running around Wasteland last night with that greasy set of perks. So much fun. Got first place on my team for the first time ever.
As for online stuff, I'm (shockingly) Berger_4_ I'm on PS3 so if anybody wants to, you're more than welcome to add me haha.

I'm on PS3 as well. I'm also interested in playing with CP people. But a word of caution: I mostly play free-for-all because I'm not great at team play.
If anyone wants to find me online, PM me and I'll send you my PS3 id.

For easy kills on the PS3 send me an invite. I'm RedMile and I'm usually on at 10:20 pm-12:00 am. Somebody has to put the baby to sleep and who am I to argue if he's lulled into a deep slumber by the sounds of warfare?

The care package turned out to be heli so I call it in right away. About two minutes later I come around another corner and right in front of me is a guy with a Stinger trying to shoot down my heli, so I knife him in the back too. It turns out it was the same guy I knifed in the back to get the heli in the first place. He comes on the mic saying "you idiot, taking down the chopper does everyone good". And I reply "not the guy that owns the chopper". Then the dots connect in his head and he really starts to lose it.
I probably took a year off the poor guy's life from all the stress he suffered through that night. Or got him grounded by his parents when they heard what kind of language he's using.
|
I guess he didn't realize he was playing free-for-all ... or Call of Duty for that matter. I don't even get it, wouldn't he have taken the chopper if you hadn't knifed him?

Exactly, that's why he was so pissed. He didn't get close enough to the care package to know what was in it. When he realized that it was the same guy that stole his care package and owned the helicopter, he realized that it should have been his helicopter. And on top of that he'd just gotten stabbed in the back twice in the span of 2 minutes by the same guy. None of these realizations helped his anger level very much.

At a glance, Red Dot and Holographic sights are pretty much the same thing.
In functionality, the Holographic sight causes way less bullet spread on certain guns than the Red Dot will. You won't see the difference it makes so much on a gun like the FAMAS, which is already extremely accurate, but you most certainly will see a difference on a gun like the M-16, where the bullet groupings are much closer together, at a distance, with the Holographic than they are with the Red Dot.
I'm not sure which of the Automatic AR's would benefit the most from Holographic versus Red Dot, or visa versa, but it is worth playing around with to find out, depending on your play style.

I never use either the red dot or the holographic sites on any of my guns. My AR's have noob tubes attached and I use iron sites and the sniper rifles I use either the thermal or stock scope.

I really and I mean really suck at this game but will be playing tonight. Feel free to at me mccree13 (ps3) and maybe I can pick up some pointers. My headset doesn't seem to work with the ps3 (motorola something) but I will try to hook it up again tonight.
Edit. My headset is screwed. My wife just informed me that the kids decided it was dirty and give it a bath!!!

I get a kick out of it too. I can just imagine a big vein pulsing in the forehead as they're going mental. Some people seriously need to get a grip. On that note I think this image can be applied to MW2 as well:

Hey Justin , it was fun playing with ya tonight....
BlackEleven.... this afternoon i got two airdrops playing big team deathmatch on wasteland ... the first one I got UAV, 2 preds , and a sentry.... I got off everything but the sentry before I was killed. I ended up getting one again b4 setting off my sentry and got 2 sentrys a pavelow and an attack copter....
Imagine this ... I have the pavelow and copter in the air ( I am pretty sure they were both mine) and I go into the tunnel and no one is in there because my pavelow killed them and they were all respawned back in the back... I set up a sentry facing every entrance and the other team could not knock one out for the life of them ....just kept running in and getting blown away..
I just sat there and laughed as the sentrys went off ... I went an ungodly 44-3 .... we won like 7500 to 2100 and when we got bakc in the lobby everyone from the other team was PISSED !!!!!!!!
I got a big kick out of it , oh and I got called a glitching FAG lol !!!!!! ... which was funny cause it was all legit haha

From everything I read, I don't think FMJ actually makes more damage, it just nullifies the damage reduction when you shoot through things. Normal bullets are only ~60% of the strength when it goes through a wall, but with FMJ, it's 100% damage.
But if it does provide extra damage, that would be sweet to put on a silence rifle (using Bling) and still use the cold blooded perk

Just through cover unfortunately. It doesn't add any power to shots straight on.

I love sniping. Quick-scoping is so much fun that I don't even touch any other guns other than the Intervention and Barrett.

When you left I played like 6-7 more games maybe, the first 3 I played without you I went a combined 87-12 or something, hehe.
Right after I unlocked a killstreak I went and unlocked Chopper Gunner. Then I switched my killstreaks to 5K-Predator Missile, 7K-Harrier, 11K-Chopper Gunner.
My first game after unlocking Chopper Gunner, I actually got it. HAHA
It was on Derail (which I hate), I whipped out my Thermal Barrett and stole someone's Akimbo Rangers, and ended up with a 14 kill streak. Went 24-3.

very nice!! I always think ... alright I am starting to get pretty good here . Then I go to hardcore and I go like 3- 14 or something like that. Thats why I still have a 1.16 K/d ratio. I do really good in the evenings with my friends who only play core . But in the afternoon i get pwned in hardcore LOL .....

Sorry, did you say 44-3? WTF dude, that's not even fair. Was the rest of your team like 3-1?
Teach me your ways.
