				 Marvin Harrison a dirty HOF'er

Don't know if this is a FATA, or if I'm fata'ing myself but I came across this article today and was blown away.
If you don't know, Marvin Harrison is one of the greatest Wide Receivers the NFL has ever known. He played for his entire career with the Indianapolis Colts along side Peyton Manning. Him and Peyton were a duo of telepathic super human athletes, easily outclassing every other variant the NFL had to offer.

After Harrison retired there was some mention of him in the news soon thereafter. Apparently, this is the true story of what happened to this would be Hall of Fame athlete...

It's a good read and requires some time, but well worth it.

One of the quietest, clutch WRs beat up, stomped, and shot a man to death... according to police reports, eye witnesses, etc.

-Following the 2008 NFL season, Marvin Harrison asked for and was granted his release by the Indianapolis Colts.-Was involved in a shooting in his home town of Phila soon after his release.
-There was little media exposure to the actual information until recently.
-He was witnessed with one of his employee's beating a man in a back street, then having the incident escalate to a shoot out where the identified shooter was harrison.
-The witness chose not to testify due to the community presence Harrison had and did not know the victim intimately, but casually.
-The shooter (harrison) was not arrested but sued in civil court later.
-The victim recovered from the incident but was later murdered.
-The witness was then tried on petty drug charges and ended up in prison to take Harrision to civil court.

 Hope that works...

Now I remember. He was without a contract after the 2008 season. During the off season, before he could sign a contract, this incident occurred and now finally we are getting details on the situation after what seemed like ages.

It just seems like three seasons to me for some reason, since his last year was underwhelming pointing towards his impending release and then this. This situation was only recently resolved but it felt like a while in the information age, kinda like dog years to my congruency with actual time.

pardon the error...

To me it looks like the fat guy who Harrison had the shootout with was trying to make Harrison his bitch. Harrison did the right thing by not allowing him into his bar with a gun and it escalated until one was dead. Neither could back down in the Philly slums or they'd lose reputation and their business's would be kapoot. I don't really blame Harrison in this situation but the guy has the money to stay out of that cesspool, too bad he didn't.

The GQ article also claims that the witness was wounded in the shooting as well receiving a bullet in his beer belly. Bullet is still there. The gun used in the shooting was registered to Harrison (maybe not registered but he admitted to owning it) and was found at his carwash in the same neighborhood as the shooting. Harrison claimed that the gun had not been fired in couple of years and that until the day the police came to question him, it had been locked in a gun cabinet in his suburban home. This statement from Harrison pretty much indicated to police that he was lying since the casing left behind after the shooting matched the gun that had supposedly been locked in Harrison's house.
