Why doesn't Conan go to CBS?

Simply put, they don't need him. Letterman is winning and there were many nights last year where Conan's Late Night lost out to Craig Ferguson. CBS has a strong late lineup.

Exactly, unless miraculously Letterman wants to retire, the only place they have room for him is at FOX.
That being said, Its my bet he will be done with late night tv after this.

I hope that when Letterman retires, CBS gives Ferguson the Late Show, but that said, I don't know that the earlier audience will appreciate him any more than they failed to appreciate Conan. Though I will say that that Letterman/Ferguson is an easier transition, humour-wise, than Leno/Conan, who are complete opposites.

Also, Kenny G sells more records than Pat Metheny.

In case you missed it, Norm comes on. This may be the best thing about the entire situation I have seen.
I loved Norm on Conan, the clip where he was on with a girl who was going to be in a carrot top movie was one of the most funny things I have ever seen

I personally don't think that Ferguson would really be interested in taking over for Dave, as I think he realizes that he wouldn't be nearly as successful earlier in the night. That, and he's not really that much younger than Dave; he'll be 48 in May, and probably past 50 by the time Dave retires and he has a chance to take over. I think he likes the intimacy of his show and really connects with the audience he has built up.

Jeeze, every guest on Conan this week is a must watch. It's still ridiculous to me that this is happening.

I must be the only person on CP that thinks Conan is not funny at all, and Leno is quite hilarious at times.
LOVE this move.

Leno is hilarious? Your age and/or IQ must be around 75. Look! A typo in a local flyer! GUFFAW!!!

My IQ must be in the double digits too, because Headlines is about the only thing I do find funny about Leno's show.

umm, I don't see where liking one comedian over another is an excuse for taking a shot at a person's intelligence.
its a preference, nothing more, nothing less.

He way over-does Jay-Walking / Jay-Walking All Stars too. There's stupid, self-absorbed people in L.A., we get it. It was funny the first couple times I saw it, but now its just played. I don't know why they made that into a regular feature, its like his go-to now.

Haha ya what was that about, especially the kids thing? He was saying when he goes to a friend's house or something the wives all wanna get with him because he's so good with kids. So basically he's saying what a stud he is. I'm just not a fan of that guy, his movies or him in general. He kinda bugs me.

Man, people take things way too seriously around here. I don't actually think the guy is an idiot for liking Leno. I guess I should have presented my joke in the Leno format and followed the line with an explanation of why it's a joke.

I actually base intelligence on the ability to appreciate Bill Hicks.
