I hate it when they do crap like this. To me it doesn't make a lot of sense. Just when people are starting to get into it, it's gone for months and people forget about it.

I've already removed it from my PVR a few weeks ago and will not be watching when it returns.

I think a lot of the delay has to do with the money they need to actually produce the episodes. They say that they're trying to make it "event TV" with a few miniseries every two or three months, but I don't really think that's the case. From all indications, the first couple hours of the show were incredibly expensive to make and were already done filming/effects long before it actually debuted, so the ratings/reception of those first few eps helped garner them more money to make the rest of the series.

You'll notice that they didn't show any new footage when they were looking forward to the return, much like almost every show that was new to the Fall season. It's too much money to waste to produce 13-22 episodes at once and then have the series get cancelled somewhere in the middle.
