The ACOG is good for picking off snipers. When you get pegged off by some guy camping somewhere that is hard to get to without him pegging you off again... then sight him out from a distance. Also, it is great at medium range with the M16A4 because one, three bullet burst takes down anyone when you have stopping power on.

The key, for me, here is to switch to the shot gun when you are running around in tight corridors or closed spaces so you always have it ready. Then when you get back in the open switch back to your Assault Rifle.

And the Heart beat monitor really isn't that big of a deal for me to get by. If I notice in a kill cam that someone is using one, I just switch to a class that has cold blooded and then it's simple to kill them. Most the time you can turn a corner and see someone with the monitor just standing there staring at it and then stab away!

Honestly, I still enjoy the game, but the first one is so much better than the sequel. The maps are better on the first game, the killstreaks are consistent, hardcore mode is better (IMO). Most importantly there is a LOT LOT LOT LESS bulls*** than MW2. MW2 is ridiculous with the amount of crap in the game. Dual-wielding shotguns is the stupidest idea ever (I use it all the time but I still hate it), dual-wielding in general is the stupidest thing they added to the game. It works in Halo, it DOES NOT work in MW2. The heartbeat sensor is another stupid addition.

I'll still play it, but man the first one is just better. At least Spec Op's is good.
Haha I agree with you in one thing.... Akimbo Rangers are just hax.

Another tip that works pretty good is running around a level that you are having problems with by yourself in private match mode. It's funny how a couple of minutes in a level without someone shooting the hell out of you can make a huge difference in getting your bearings.

I like the maps a lot more than COD4 :P. Akimbo rangers are stupid (at least make it a slow reload), thermal is equally dumb. The no recoil on the snipers and the ability for snipers to fire 5 bullets at the same area in 3 seconds is really stupid. Lightweight and marathon and all the unrealistic arcadish perks are annoying (I realize that it's a game, but some of them are just silly). Grenade launchers are annoying as **** but I've never used them to see if they take any skill. I could go on and on as there are a lot of flaws in this game, but it's better than COD4 IMO.

For those trying to improve in the game I would suggest just staying on the outer edges of maps. When I first started playing the game I would just search through the map randomly and usually led to more deaths. But since I have started just staying on the outside my k/d ratio has improved greatly. I went from 0.33 to 0.65 in a month. Also try to avoid going for revenge kills, if someone kills you forget about going to the same spot to find them just move on.

I got the thermal scope and I can't use it. It's hard for me to see when I'm moving around (which is a lot) and it zooms in too much so close quarter battles is impossible. I'm all about close quarters which might explain it.

I don't think I have gotten a single kill with a sniper rifle yet. That thing is so hard to use.

Those things have ridiculous range just for shotties and it's not even funny.

I have always wondered how guys so far away from me manage to kill me before I can kill them where I've emptied half my clip into them. Unbelievable!

Okay... I just play with one of those Akimbo ranger people. Wow. He took out a room of 4 of us with one or two shots. Incredible...

That's my shotgun class. So so cheap. You run fast as hell, I can stab you from 15 feet away and I've got my dual shotties. Just as an extra bonus, I also carry a n00btube. I hate the amount of a-holes on MW2 so much I just said "f*** it, I am joining them".

I usually start playing nice with my stealth class, Ninja, Cold Blooded, Bling with a SCAR, but as soon as I get n00btubed or Akimbo'd I pull out the bitch class.

If anyone wants to play I'm going on now to bitch it up.

No way, that's the best way to get kills. Go get the guy and then hang out close by for him to come back and get him again. Move to a different spot close by, rinse and repeat. Some guys get so frustrated that they turn their mikes on just to swear at you in the lobby after. Love it.

Another fun kill is to find a guys tactical insertion and then put a well place claymore (or two if you have scavenger) around it. Then hunt him out and get the tactical deletion.

What is a noobtube? And how do you get the dual shotguns anyway? Do you have to get a certain number of kills with one shotgun first?

Noobtube is the grenade launcher attachment on the assault rifles and yes you have to get a certain number of kills with a shotgun before you can get dual (akimbo) shotguns.

It's a balancing thing with the Thermal scope. It's probably best used for mid to long range. Really handy in that wasteland level since it picks out people hidden in the tall grass

Sniper is my favourite class. Just got to play on a good long range map (afghan, Wasteland), find a good choke point, and most importantly don't stay too long in one place. It's makes it easier too that the Barraret .50 is unlocked so early in the game and is very decent

The other day, the other team must have forgot about me when playing on the Highrise Level. I was camped out on one of the cranes on the side and recored 23 sniper kills

That's an awesome idea. I'm just starting to get the hang of things after playing for 3 nights. I now have a favorite place on most maps that I can get to. I don't really know the maps, but as long as I can get to my place and navigate a little it tends to work out.

I won my first game last night. Pretty excited. The other guys were mic happy so I could hear my name being mentioned a ton (usually wrapped in expletives). Trouble is I'm holding a baby when I'm playing, so I keep the sound super low. It was funny, I was dead last in most games and then all of a sudden I won two matches. The adrenaline was pumping like mad.

I'll agree with sticking to the outsides. Once you get inside it opens you up to attacks from all directions. At least figure out the map before you start running through the centre of the maps.

I disagree with your take on revenge kills. Usually you spawn in an area where you can get back at them, so if you get your bearings you can usually get the upper hand. I have the added health death perk (and it gets used often), so I usually just charge towards the scene of my death and it works fine.

My tip is when running through a high traffic or high danger area, find a safe spot and turn around. I find the number of people that hide out waiting for somebody to run by is high. They'll often try and sprint after you and knife you. I had a huge amount of success last night just sprinting through an open area, turning a corner and then hiding behind cover. 9 times out of 10 a guy would come sprinting right past me.

I also recommend not sticking around too much after a loud firefight. If you find a nice spot to pick guys off only stick around if you can get 3 kills in quick succession. If you are stationary and don't have your UAV running you are going to get rushed QUICKLY. It's a good situation to be in once you can activate it because guys will flood in your direction, but you'll have the advantage of knowing where they are coming from. Once that UAV stops it's time to get the F outta dodge.

I stayed up extra late to get the thermal scope and was saddened to see how far it zooms. I liked it for the Afghan level as there are many guys hiding in the hills or in the caves, but for close quarter combat it's not as good. I love the ACOG and holographic sights though ... those things are glorious
