No Thanks Button
We have a thanks button, but there are so many times people make comments and I want to give them a thumbs down... I think we should have a no thanks button. Who agrees?

There's a few threads about this in the help forum, basically it promotes negativity and there's well over enough of that already.

Yea it would cause way too many fights as if there aren't enough already. It would never happen.
Unless they were anonymous "thumbs downs"... that could work but probably still wouldn't happen.

And I was just thinking over coffee this morning that Calgarypuck just isn't negative enough these days...
It'll never happen, I don't think. It might be in the archives of the support tab here, but I think the mods nixed it because it would encourage negativity.
That said, I would love to see it on Reggie's posts. How many thanks and how many no-thanks would his anti-Vancouver comments get?

Am I the only one who assumed this thread was going to be about the bad GMing or bad Scouting of Craig Button/Todd Button?

Thats what I was thinking, just a single thumb down type thing... Not like the thanks that posts the name...
Also I didnt realize there were threads about this already. I had never seen it mentioned.

I prefer the surprised face + poo...it abstractly suggests the poster to "eat poo".
On a seperate note, check out this one When would it be appropriate to use the parrot?

I would welcome a 'No Thanks' button. But could we retroactively use it on Craig Button? I hope so.
Other places like Yahoo answers or Urban Dictionary have them. Seriously, if people on THOSE sites can handle it, why can't we?

I would like it because it may cut down stupid posts. Hopefully people would get enough "no thanks" that they would put some more thought into what they were typing, threads they were starting etc.
Also we wouldn't have pages of responses telling one post how stupid it is (eg, responding to bad trade ideas). Everyone could just hit "no thanks" and let the thread fall away.

Man if I could guarantee that a No Thanks button would be used instead of responding to annoying or provocative posts then I'd do it in a heartbeat!

That's it man!
A "Craig Button" would allow one to express: "Well, that's not the worst ever, but that post could use a lot of work.", via a handy button near the "Thanks".
