I'd be more aware if I didn't keep tuning out after the first word.

Also, after seeing some of the people who've posted their colours, black isn't as sexy as it was yesterday. Some mental images, you don't want.

I saw this on my facebook when I got home today so I googled it instead of asking the question on FB and looking like a dork.

When I saw all of this going on yesterday, I had to be a 'Debbie Downer and make every girl look ######ed. My status was changed to this, "Breast Cancer. Now everyone is more aware of it rather than seeing just a color in your status."

Inform people, don't just write a color. Tell them some facts.

It'd be funny if guys did the same for like testicular cancer...

I am betting that 80% would answer commando, 10% would lie and say a colour, and then 10% sissy's would actually be wearing something.

"Hmmmm, I wonder what's up with these"
"Oh, they are for what kind of cancer?"
"Breast cancer you say? Interesting, I had no idea. We should do something about that"
"Yep, we totally should do something"

Sadly, as with most awareness events, this is doing nothing for the cause such as raising money. Oh, and it only works when people actually tell the answer, instead of a lot of the women going "sshhhh, don't tell the men! It's our secret!" I see... breast cancer is now an online game damn near.
Maybe you just need to lighten up a bit. I don't see the harm, it's not like this is a black eye for Breast Cancer Awareness... come on.

I set my status to "RED!" to go with the flow, not knowing at the time what this whole color thing was all about.

Once I found out..........

Re: the whole breast cancer awareness thing.

Who was thinking/talking about breat cancer yesterday morning?

Who is thinking/talking about breast cancer now (even if it is to bash them for this secretive facebook ploy).

Awareness raised. Objective completed.

Well done I say.

You know, here's what bothers me about this kind of crap.

My friend Houman's status (he owns a lingerie company): "God Bless you Facebook for the Market Research."

This kind of stuff goes hand in hand with faux outrage.

Well most women would probably say neutral colour or nude tone but they see all their friends with fun, flirty colours so they make it up.

What exactly was accomplished? Are we any closer at all to finding a cure for breast cancer today than we were yesterday? "Raising awareness" is a completely meaningless goal because it accomplishes NOTHING. The only thing this stupid campaign accomplishes is that a bunch of people are patting themselves on the back because they think they've made a difference when they've really done jack squat. You want to really make a difference? How about you donate your money to or volunteer for a cancer-related charity? That would make a difference. But of course that's much harder than taking two seconds to change your status on Facebook.

I'm pretty sure that by "awareness," they really just means it gets people thinking about it, which results in more women getting tested, which results in less women dying. Of course donating money for research is good and maybe the bra color thing won't actually result in anyone else getting tested, but maybe it will, and that's a good thing.

I was like ohhh this is cool imagining all these hotties in their bras until I saw my sisters update.

Between that and the puppy kicking video in the other thread I won't be able to eat lunch today

Exactly. In the absence of a cure, the best thing to do is prevention. Which is exactly what this was about - Reminding women to get tested.

If this campaign causes even One woman to go get tested who wouldn't have otherwise, and that woman's life is saved because of it, then it's all worth it. Early detection is SOOOOOOO important when it comes to breast cancer.

Really? How many women do you think actually picked the phone up yesterday to make an appointment for a breast exam because of this campaign? Furthermore, how many do you think didn't already plan to get one done this year?

I'd bet my life's savings on more women trying to be flirty and chuckling because they thought they were keeping a secret from the men, than actually trying to raise awareness. You think if I start meme saying post your underwear brand in support of freedom, but don't tell the men, the results would be any different?

Haha ya after reading this thread I must admit I ran through my Facebook list a bit, and the worst part is most of the girls on there who I'd like to know what colour they're wearing didn't participate in this. Only my relatives and other girls on there who frankly I'd rather not know what colour they're wearing took part. What a waste.
