Buying Older Model Composite Sticks
The skate thread reminded me about looking into this.
Is there a store in Calgary that sells older model composite sticks?
Specifically, I don't mean last month's model on sale on the main stick rack; I mean significantly older models that maybe have gone unsold in the store's warehouse from a couple months back.
I would much prefer to buy an older model stick in bulk-ish (5-10) for super cheap if I can find it. I'm specifically thinking older synergies.
I'd prefer this to shopping online. But on that note, is there somewhere online I could do this too?

I'm talking like these bad boys (the synergies):

Ok maybe not that old, but you get the picture.

Most sticks I can think of come out in yearly cycles. The sticks from a few months ago are likely the most current iteration available.

Sportmart might have some...probably not the old Synergy grips, but I know that there were some green ST's kicking around the Camrose store up until a couple months ago at least. But those are quite a few years newer than the old Si-Cores.
Maybe check hockeymonkey or hockeygiant. Or call Easton and see if they have anything kicking around anywhere.

What about buying in bulk? Does anyone buy 5-10 (or more) sticks at a time from some of these places for discounts?

I know you can buy sticks in bulk from Adrenaline for a discount. But I don't know how "old" the sticks would really be. And while it's cheaper per stick, it certainly isn't super cheap.
I know someone mentioned hockeymonkey earlier. But they won't ship all sticks to Canada directly. I know they don't ship Easton, and I think they other two brands are Nike/Bauer and Warrior but that might be wrong. It has been two months or so since I talked to them.

To clarify, I'm not looking specifically for older models, I'm looking for discounts. The cheapest I can think of would be older model sticks in bulk.

You should check hockey experts (deerfoot outlet mall/deerfoot meadows mall) They have a lot of Easton Stealths for $139.99. They are older models that used to go for $299.99 - $339.99.

Yeah a buddy of mine just picked up the previous version of the Stealth for under a hundred bucks in Olds.
If you're simply looking for cheap sticks, you should take a look at buying pro-stock sticks. There's no warranty on them but generally they're a bit cheaper. If you have the funds, call a stick company directly, or go talk to someone in Tuxedo or Hockey Experts and ask them to order in a run of sticks...if you order enough I think you can even get your own curve.

Look into pro-stocks. I haven't seen too many lately, though.
