Jay Leno going back to 11:30... Conan's future unclear
It looks like Jay Leno will be going back to 11:30pm on NBC after the Olympics, while the future of The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien is unclear. A friend told me about this today and I was kinda ticked off. Has Leno become the new Brett Favre? How people can watch Leno's show and find it funny is beyond me.
On the other hand, Conan has gone downhill IMO since he left Late Night. I hope that NBC reconsiders this and gives the boot to Leno.

Edit: I didn't realize there was already a Conan thread. Mod's can lock this if they want.

I like watching Jay Leno. He can be funny but it's more of an entertaining factor for me. I can watch the whole show with him, while with Conan after 30 minutes I have to change it. He just comes off as a big ###### for me.

I understand Leno getting the 11:30 spot due to seniority but Conan getting the boot rather than Jimmy Fallon? That would be a disgrace.

Jay should quit the funny business and just do a car show. He actually knows what he's doing there. I hate slagging on him, as he seems like a genuinely nice guy even if he's clearly a little on the vanilla side, but I don't want him to continue at the expense of Conan.

A little part of me is going to die if they cancel Conan.

With you being an Oilers Fan, I'd actually be OK with that.

I usually start my day listening to Artie Lange on the Howard Stern Show and end my day watching Conan. The one stabs himself and the other gets stabbed in the back by the network. What a crappy day.

Conan hasn't been as good since the change over. I was afraid it would change the show, and it looks like it has. I actually like Leno better now than I did before. I'd still take Conan over him, but it's closer now.
Jimmy Fallon has also improved, but is still sub-par to what Conan was.
I can see Conan leaving NBC if this happens.

It would be a bit of a coincidence seeing as how Conan inherited Letterman's show on NBC when Letterman left.
It's funny how NBC botched this. Their late night talk show line-up was the only thing the network really had going for it.

Maybe part of the reason I really like Conan right now, is I never really watched late night TV prior to his switch to Leno's spot. I would sometimes just check to see which guests the shows had on, but now, I record Conan everyday just for his monologue.

Conan became very unfunny when his timeslot changed. i watched it for a few months when he first changed over, but now it's just tired and worn out. twitter tracker, the stupid vampire and wolfboy assistants, unfunny monologues and celebrity interviews. i found myself having to skip half the show out of boredom, then finally deciding to stop PVR'ing it entirely. the only funny bits were unsurprisingly the ones recycled from his old show (year 3000, triumph, anything involving William Shatner)

If Conan did take over for Letterman, it'd suck since I was really hoping Ferguson got the nod.

I've stopped watching Conan and Leno.
The switch-up was not for the better at all.
Leno should quit and do Top Gear America but that show will never get off the ground and even Jay doesn't believe in it with the way that American advertising works (BBC is publically funded). Jay's passion is cars anyway and he's appeared on Top Gear and his Electric Car race segment is based on Top Gear's celebrity around the track in a reasonably priced car segment.

He would be a natural choice as he works for the same network. I personally don't really like his comedy style, but his wide appeal can't be argued. His ratings speak for themselves.
The thing his fans should be wary of is that moving him to a higher profile slot could do what it did to Conan. Part of Ferguson's appeal is that he is unorthodoxed, kind of like what Conan was like.
