The jury is still out on him IMO.
Sure they finished under .500 but they played without their starting QB, starting RB, starting CB, starting DT. To be even close in that situation says to me he did a great job. I like the way he handles players although the message will probably get old real fast.

Every team has injuries...so thats a moot point, sorry. Hell NE lost Brady for the entire season and still won 11 games.

Im not harshing on the guy, but he still has much to prove.

Yep, and this is why I think the Eagles are frauds. The offense is great, but the defense has problems against good offenses. I think most of that has to with all of the injuries at linebacker, but I definitely didn't buy into the hype while they were on their 6 game winning streak.

Their other big problem is that they can't seem to get pressure with their front four on obvious passing downs. Trent Cole is awesome, but teams generally double-team in on 3rd done, and none of the other defensive linemen are able to generate pressure.

Yup, every team has injuries but imo to go from being a 1 win team to a team that has had 18 wins the last years is a great turnaround. Sure he lots to prove but he doesn't have the talent that lots of other coaches have to work with. I think we could argue this all day long

Colts will keep 2 kickers on the roster for the playoffs but Matt Stover has been named the starter and Adam Vinatieri will be on the sidelines.

No, I wouldn't. That kind of bravado makes a joke out of you pretty quick. If he REALLY thinks the Jets should be the favorites he's a bad football coach because nobody else on the planet believes that.

I like confidence...but when it is so over the top that it is stupid, like this is, it's just that....stupid.

Do teams normally go to one?

There are a few teams who will dress both a place kicker and a kickoff specialist on their 45 man game day roster. In this case I think the Colts have them both on their 53 man roster but will only be dressing one of them on game days. It's a clever move by the Colts as they have great depth at a position that can become pretty important in the playoffs. Teams like Dallas, or New Orleans would love to have either one of those guys kicking for them.

Yeah I guess it's better to alienate all your star players. Ryan took a team that missed the playoffs to the playoffs. McDaniels got the same result as last year. I'll take the playoffs for the win.

Dude, why is it a comparison?

Besides, I've made my disdain for McDaniels' ways very clear here.

And both teams had the exact same record.

You and I both know that the Jets were fortunate to get in...if Pittsburgh, Houston or Denver had won one more game, the Jets would be watching on TV this weekend.

Ryan can say that his club is the favorites to win the whole thing all he wants...but it is stupid IMO. He should be playing the underdog game for the media, not giving other teams extra motivation.

I like the guy and think that defense is awesome...but lets be real.

It's a comparison because you said you wouldn't want him as your coach, but he in my opinion is clearly an upgrade. If you can get a better coach you take him.

OK...but you told me I would love it if he were my coach making statements like he's made and I told you why I would actually not like it at all. So you're reaction is to attack the Broncos coach?

Doesn't make sense to me.

I will begin by letting you know that I am a long time Jets fan.

By saying they are fortunate to get in by that logic is ridiculous...if the Jets win one more game the wild card is in hand before last week's game...if the Jets gets one more win and the Pats drop one, the Jets could have won the division...if my aunt had balls she would be my uncle...

None of this makes any sense, they earned their playoff spot. They had games when they look like they could have beaten anyone in the league. They had games when they looked like they would lose to Bishop Carroll. I think you could say similar things about the Texans, Steelers, and Broncos.

And you are taking the favorites comment out of context. Rex is a little wacky, have you ever seen his Dad?

Ryan gets the benefit of the doubt for being the HC of the red headed stepchild NY team. Sure, they have a little bit of scrutiny on them, but not really. McDaniels took over what is arguably the most fashionable team to hate. My whole life I've watched message boards explode with Bronco hate. I'll take McDaniels and his fist pumping, calling out players, youthful exuberance every time.

SUre...but that doesnt change what i said. At all.

Quote:

Of course they did...never said otherwise, that doesnt mean they aren't fortunate however.

Quote:

Sort of my point.

Quote:

Oh? How's that?

here is what he said.

Quote:
, "but to me, we should be favourites, so that's fine."
Ryan was then asked to clarify if he meant the Jets should be favoured to beat the Bengals on Saturday in Cincinnati....and he responded with

Quote:
"I mean in the whole tournament," he said. "You know the way that I feel."

So feel free to explain to me where I took anything "out of context". Its pretty clear what he is saying....unless he is speaking in some sort of secret Jet code language only those who cheer for the team understand.

Quote:
Rex is a little wacky, have you ever seen his Dad?
Yeah i am rather familiar with Buddy....not sure what that has to do with anything however.
