Wow, that's pretty good.

Well, here's a story for you. At my old work, somebody's laptop HD died,

stuck in the freezer overnight - no good
left in over the weekend - still no good
tried it after a month - still no good

then we forgot about the harddrive.

6 months after her laptop died, we were cleaning out the freezer and saw her drive. Stuck it in, it worked! Gave her data back to her and she was happy.

Nothing will blow up, just make sure there's no ice build up on the otherside of the drive. keep an eye out for moisture on the connections, if it's too wet, don't do it.

Holy crap thats awesome! You may very well have saved about four years of original music I didn't backup before the crash! If so, you sir, are getting a case of beer!

If you can, get the external HD anyway. It's a good idea to have one where you can drop important files, etc.
