Bumping an old thread. Just wondering if this silly chant was used at all? I've watched alot of the games in noisey bars where I never heard it, and now watching the Gold Medal game at home I heard another chant I couldn't make out but certainly not that one.

Hoping the whole idea dies a painful death before the Olympics but just curious if it is getting any legs in this tournament.

It has been used, but not very often and not for very long.

Im surprised people actually went along with it

I have a lot of friends out there, they are actively spreading the word to not do the chant during games, even facebook groups have popped up.

i said it in the other thread, but I think due to the loss, the hockey superstition-ness of players, coaches, etc will keep that chant away from Canada at other tourneys.

I'm sure Pepsi was hoping their chant would be used at the Olympics, where Coke is the sponsor.

There was no way in hell this chant was gonna catch on for the Olympics. It was brutal.

You don't just force chants. They come up spontaneously.

Disagree... if you don't have enough variety, you end up not chanting at all. We need more chants!

Then let the crowd create their own chants. Not some company tell us what chant to do.

Agreed that we need more. Gotta round everyone up that was interested last time.

For the record, even if somebody came up with it randomly sans sponsor, "Eh O Canada Go" is not creative, catchy, funny, or anything else a god chant should be.

What's your problem with slogans? When you witness the art of performance and need a chant to reach out and touch someone, why think different? Just do it. That's the way we bring good things to life and it does a body good. Chanting together can help us all work towards sharing the happiest place on earth. It's the choice of a new generation.

This chant was just lame and don't agree with the concept of making it an official chant for Team Canada that everyone is gonna use now. Think it should be up to the crowd that determines what makes a chant official and if it will stick with Team Canada or not. I know it may seem a bit much but thats how I feel.

I would've done my customary Flames game chant of "GIVE - 'ER - BOURQUE".

Would've been really confusing at the gold medal game!

Well, whether or not it's the real thing I think it's a great example of imagination at work. It's expanding possibilities and I'm loving it. It's in the game and it's connecting people.

New chants, for the most part, require coordination and that doesn't happen spontaneously. This was created by a Canadian and voted on by Canadians. Pepsi just organized the voting.

Yeah but 2 of the 3 chants were totally lame.

Even the third one, the best of the three, wasn't great. I think it was C-eh-N-eh-D-eh Go Canada Go. Or something like that.

It wasn't great but at least it made some sense. What the hell is with Eh-O'-Canada-Go? It doesn't make any sense and sounds like a really, really lame version of just chanting Go Canada Go.

Fun anyone? These things don't just happen absolutely, positively overnight. Have it your way if you want, but I'm glad that not everything we do is driven by you. The thing with chanting is that if it gives you wings impossible is nothing.

Ri-cci`s ug-ly *clap, clap, clap, clap, clap*

Seriously...we had won 5 golds in a row using just Go Canada Go, and now we`re 0-1 with that stupid Pepsi chant. Kill it.

Pepsi (Pepsico) is an American owned entity. They organized this campaign to promote their brand.

It's a ######ed chant to begin with, but the fact some mega American company is getting advertising and exposure from it makes it that much worse.

People might as well be chanting "Buy Pepsi!"

Anyone who's chanting this is a fricken sheep.
