Always a bad time for those guys that miss the playoffs.

Zorn was escorted from the building at 4:45am apparently, which makes me wonder what the F he was doing there. Maybe he thought he could trick the boss into keeping him around by putting in long hours, that's pretty much my plan going forward

Depending on the cap / non cap year, I have no problem watching Marshall walk and Scheffler getting tendered for a 3rd round pick.
It should be said that I am a McDaniels fan for sure, and think he will take this team where it needs to go after Shanahan had 4 extra years to ruin it. the Broncos will be back, don't worry about that.

While i am not a Mcdaniels fan, i fully supported him in the whole Cutler ordeal, Cutler is a baby and to me that is a good trade for Denver, as for Marshall, perhaps Mcdaniels can already see that he is dealing with another Terrell Owens, although calling him out doesnt help the broncos if they try to trade him.

Late start on the West coast. Long flight home. He was told he was fired after the team flight, gathered his things and left.

I think Chris Johnson should get it. He is only the 6th player in NFL history to rush for over 2000 yards. He had the 5th most rushing yards in a season in NFL history. He rushed for almost 600 yards more than the RB who finished second in the league. He set an NFL record for all purpose yards in a season.
Peyton Manning wasn't even the best QB statistically in the NFL this season. If the league is going to give it to a QB it should go to Brett Favre. He threw for almost as many yards as Manning. Had the same amount of TD passes while throwing 6 less INT's and his rating was better.

Draft order, for those who are interested.
Top 10 picks: 1. STL; 2. DET; 3. TB; 4. WASH; 5. KC; 6: SEA; 7: CLE; 8: OAK; 9: BUF; 10: CHI OR JAX (coin flip).
I don't think Mangini, Smith, Morris, Singletary, McDaniels or Kubiak go anywhere.
Mora will probably get let go once Seattle finds someone to run the team. And Tom Cable should get fired by the old man Davis.

Fox Sports' Jay Glazer (per twitter) is reporting that the entire Bills coaching staff has been fired. Not a real shocker.

I have a hard time giving the MVP to a nonplayoff team.

Johnson was playing and playing well during their 0-6 streak. Vince Young comes in and they go 8-2 the rest of the way.
Tough to justify league MVP when you may not even be the team MVP.

I am amazed, but I think Mangini has earned himself one more year.

I think the MVP is going to Manning, I have a hard time beleiving many voters won't have him at the top of that list.
Although, I do think Chris Johnson will be offensive player of the year. Revis will be defensive player of the year, with Cushing being defensive ROY and Harvin as offensive ROY.
Those are all just my predictions.

How can these fellows win one award but not both? They are both offensive players. If you are the MVP, you are also the offensive player of the year.

MVP - P. Manning
OPOY - C. Johnson (Maybe Brees, but didn't want to look like a homer )
DPOY - C. Woodson
OROY - P. Harvin
DROY - B. Cushing
Comeback player - Brady

I don't believe there is ANY doubt that Manning wins MVP...he just put in one of the all-time greatest seasons a QB ever has...and his club won 14 games all while having the worst running game in the league.
Take him off that team and how many do they win?? My guess would be 2 at most. I think the one game that wins this for him is that Miami tilt when his club had the ball for 15 minutes, the Dolphins for 45, yet the Colts won while putting up 27 pomits.
However that argument ( how many wins without him) could be made for several QB's...Schaub, Rodgers, Brees, Roethlisburger, Rivers etc.
The only guy that cant make that claim is Favre, as he won 12 games this year with essentially the same cast of characters that Minnesota won 10 games with last year. Although there is no denying he had a tremendous year.
Lots of great individual performances this year, Johnson, Brees, Rivers,
Rodgers (anyone really look at his #'s? They are astounding) etc. But one stands above all and its Peyton.

I think that DPOY goes to Revis and DROY goes to Clay Matthews, beyond that i agree with all of those.

I would give it to Rivers, that team was floundering at 2-3 and he took them to where they are now... yes the colts wouldnt be great without Manning but the Chargers didnt exactly light it up yesterday once Rivers was out of the game...

But Rivers was the QB when they were 2-3...so that argument really doesnt apply.
And did you see what the Colts did without Manning yesterday and last wekk once he was pulled? He is the glue on that team...no question.

Peyton got very lucky to win several of those games. Just a few breaks either way and Peyton has the same number of wins as Favre, Rivers or Brees. Also look at Peyton's numbers. While his team may have been the best in the NFL, his numbers don't compare to Brees, Favre, Rivers, or even Rodgers for that matter.
The MVP must go to either Brees or Favre. Both played in the tougher conference, had the best numbers in the league, and lead their teams to the number 1 and 2 seeds respectively.
Also, in using the argument that Peyton was the entire Colts team because you can see what they were like once he was pulled, you must also note that he wasn't the only one pulled from those games. Practically the whole starting lineup was pulled from both those games.

Singletary isn't going anywhere. And while I am not a fan of Jimmy Ray as OC, after 5 OC in 5 years I think it is time to get a bit of consistency. The Niners had full intention of being a power running team but didn't have the O-Line to be able to do that. The O-Line would get comfortable, then someone would get injured and it would be a week or two before things got back to normal. I fully expect at least one O-Lineman in the first round (SF picks at 13 and 17).
I tried looking back at my guess how the 49ers season would go. The only post I found was where I thought they would be .500, so I guess I was right. I thought I did another post where I put what they could do vs what they should do but I couldn't find that post.
