The TLC network was advertising this 1 hour special all night but in the end it didn't go to air. I wonder what went down. Tigers lawyers get involved maybe?

It was on the air earlier today. I only saw a couple minutes of it when I was channel surfing. One of the girls was being interviewed about her relationship with Tiger. She had a piercing under her eye and talked about how he never bought her anything and that disappointed her. She had bleached blonde hair and TONS of makeup on. It wasn't interesting enough to keep watching.

Disappointed. There's a word you don't want thrown around too much with this type story.

Here's something I have a problem with in how we all (led by the media) have reacted:
It's revealed that Tiger Woods has been unfaithful to his wife, and it's front-page news for almost a month.
Charlie Sheen holds a knife to his wife's throat on Christmas Day, and it doesn't register an iota in comparison. Shouldn't we have a stronger reaction to this story?

As an example, Nike's current share price is roughly the same or a little higher right now than it was when this began, even though it dipped lower in the middle of it.
Does that mean the researchers would have a different conclusion if they were doing their calculations today?
Probably.

You've already priced in Charlie Sheen being an idiot . . . a LONG, LONG time ago.
Tiger Woods being an idiot is a new thing and quite a swing from the expected norm.
Sheen is old news and a small-timer in the big scheme of things. Woods is in a different orbit. Completely different stories even though we might observe Sheen's actions are more serious than Woods.

Me too. I actually first heard it two or three days ago on the radio. I came back to this thread today and was very surprised it hadn't already been mentioned. I guess this whole Tiger thing is becoming old news.

Twas the night of Thanksgiving and out of the house
Tiger Woods came a flyin', chased by his spouse..
She wielded a nine iron and wasn't too merry,
Cause a bimbo's phone number was in his Blackberry.
He'd been cheatin' on Elin, and the story progressed.
Woman after woman stepped up and confessed.
He'd been cheatin' with Holly, and Jaimee, and Cori,
With Joselyn, and Kalika. The world had the story.
From the top of the Tour to the basement of blues,
Tiger's sad sordid tale was all over the news.
With hostesses, waitresses, he had lots of sex,
When not in their pants, he was sendin' them texts.
Despite all his cryin' and beggin' and pleadin',
Tiger's wife went investin' -- a new home in Sweden.
And I heard her exclaim from her white Escalade,
"If you're gettin' laid then I'm gettin' paid."
She's not pouting, in fact, she is of jolly good cheer,
Her prenup made Christmas come early this year.

I guess this can get a little weirder. Brit Hume on Fox News...
Quote:
"The extent to which he can recover it seems to me depends on his faith. He's said to be a Buddhist. I don't think that faith offers the kind of forgiveness and redemption that is offered by he Christian faith. So my message to Tiger would be "Tiger, turn to the Christian faith and you can make a total recovery and be a great example for the world."
|
I don't know if it would be a masterstroke of PR if he pulled that stunt, or if it would backfire and even the suckerest of suckers would see through it.
Give it a shot Tiger!
