Merry Christmas, the boss is dead!!
For real. One week before Christmas my boss offed himself. So now we are finding out that we are in horrible financial shape and will finish up what work we have by the end of January!
Merry effing Christmas!!
Its actually almost comical at this point now. Anyone else have any bizarre Christmas-related events or strange work stories? I've never known anyone who has committed suicide so this is all very strange to me. The work thing is OK, I'll find another job, its just tough to be here right now.

That is.....terrible.
In a bizarre stretch of circumstances last Christmas, my ex-boss' husband shot and killed himself, and about a month later my ex-boss found out she had some kind of cancer, but never followed up on it, didn't seek any treatment, and died about a month after that.
So yeah, that's my morbid story.

depressing news
Unfortunately, Holiday season is a very depressing time for some people. Crisis people are much more busy at this time than any other time of the year

Last Christmas eve, I got a call from a user with a a malware infested PC. I didn't think much of it other than be somewhat annoyed that they were working late on Christmas eve, and now I had to fix it.
SAME THING HAPPENS THIS YEAR, an hour or so after the office is closed, buddy calls me up to report an infection. So I do the cleanup, and decide to do a little forensics to determine how/where the infection came from.
And...you guessed it...surfing for ahem questionable content, once the office is closed and everyone else has left. I'm not touching their PC at work anymore - if it needs work, I'm bringing my own mouse and keyboard.
So, Christmas holidays definitely bring out the weird in people.

When I was reading this, I thought you were going to say he was lonely at the holidays and just wanted a friend so he installed the malware himself so you'd have to fix his computer ... or maybe he had a crush on you or something.

Aunties? Is that a tech geek term or a porn term?
