Last night I got one of the best christmas presents I've ever received.
Having not checked the NIN site or NIN fan sites recently I missed the fact that on Christmas day the long awaited fan DVD was finally released.
At Chirstmas 08 Trent released over 400gigs of high definition video. It was all raw, unedited footage from 3 shows and about 5-10 cameras from each show.
Unfortunately I don't have a bluray player so I settled for the dual layer DVD version but it is quite simply the most amazing thing I've ever seen.
How fans managed to so spectacularly edit, direct and produce this dvd is beyond me. In fact I think it is better than the last NIN dvd which was professionally done.
It comes with spectacular menus, 5.1 sound, 1080p bluray (for those capable), artwork if you want a dvd case and just looks and sounds spectacular.
Having seen 3 shows on that particular tour, and given the fact that NIN isn't touring anymore, ever, I have literally been watching the DVD over and over most of last night and this morning. I can't believe people made this thing for free. It is truly remarkable.
Anyone interested just head to thisoneisonus.org, the ninhotline.net or nin.com. All have links.

Nothing too exciting this year but I did pretty good.

Yeah, sounds like a pretty boring Christmas. There will be no joy in Hootville this year.

^ Yeah, wow no kidding. I got probably 5% of the total $ value of his gifts and I'm pretty happy about what I got. Damn.
Holy crap, some of you got a lot of pretty sweet and expensive stuff. So much for this recession thing.

I didn't mean it like that. I meant I didn't get anything exciting like signed jerseys, etc. Do I enjoy gift cards and cash? Hell ya! But is it exciting? Not really.

2 g's in cash would be very exciting for me!
I wasn't expecting much this year cause I've definitely passed the age for gifts, but I racked up a 250 gig PS3 and 2 games including NHL 10! I was pretty stoked.
I was more excited about the gifts I gave to tell you the truth though. Finally have a little cash this year and was able to treat my sister and my girlfirend and get a little something for other important people.

I got one sweater and treated myself to a Christmas dinner of Salibury Steak brought to me by Swanson's Hungry Man which was on sale at Wal-Mart for $3. The present I bought for myself on ebay was crushed by the post office. There's a tire track on it.
I was also given the gift of unemployment.
I don't like Christmas.

I was fortunate enough to receive: - $300 in gift cards from Pro hockey Life (I'll turn that into a new bag and some shoulder pads)
- a slap chop
- one of those blow torches for the kitchen
- blu-ray of Planet Earth
- Avatar game for 360
- Round of golf at Innisfail
We also bought my son some goal equipment _ I thought he was going to explode when he saw it......

I got one fractured rib, 2 more cracked, and an orange sized swelling on my elbow all courtesy of a patch of ice i simply didnt see. (actually had to go to emergency christmas day as i could no longer deal with the pain nor the obvious "stuff is moving inside me" thing that was going on and needed some medical help to deal with it)
But it came with a bonus of the blond doting on me night and day the last week since it happened...and a whole lot of quality time just talking the last few days. Oh and i havent had to cook a thing since either!
