Sounds like they tried to pull a fast one and hope you didnt notice. I'd be calling to say you want the price matched from Home Depot or the actual model you purchased and paid for.

Nice steam washer though. Now you won't smell like baby vomit any more.

I'd definitely try to finagle a discount out of them. That's the ol' bait and switch they pulled on you. Threaten to file a complaint with the BBB.

Before we tar and feather Trail, give them a call and explain the situation. Trail was quite fair to deal with when they gouged a 1 foot gash in the drywall on a difficult move in our place. Lets see what they do.
And if they don't we will unleash the CP jihad.

fotze, are you a senior? or they would not trick you.
i had dealt with some dealers in the past as customer service rep, i wish you good luck in attempting to get what you have bought. honestly the chance is still high, but it may take time. i think the most frustrating thing would be, you can't use it while waiting.

If you didn't get what the invoice says, Im pretty sure if you call and complain about it, they'll replace it with the correct one. (Or I would hope they would)
If not, call the BBB and send the president a link to this thread. (Seriously). Its the low level sales people or sales managers that would be behind a stunt like this, and management definitly wouldn't condone or stand behind such a trick (maybe if it were the brick)

I'm sure it was just a mistake and the delivery guys grabbed the wrong box. I highly doubt they are tying to pull a fast one on you.

No doubt that will be their reason/excuse. But we all know that they are trying to pull a fast one. |

If it does everything you need I would go for the additional discount instead of them having to replace it. Just make sure it comes with the same warranty and you get the invoice changed when you get money back. Go for a big discount or make them come and get it and waste their time and money.

Its likely an honest mistake. Give them a call or pop in and speak to your salesperson or store manager, they will rectify it ASAP.

Clearly whether the washer is the equivalent or not, the real issue now becomes whether your wife can live with it or not.

Too late, the war is on.
I've fired off a scathing, profanity-laced diatribe to Trail Appliances' president Paul Broderick's email address.

At least get the price protection, it would be stupid not to if it's a difference of 300 bucks. All you have to do for price protection in most cases is bring in your receipt and a flyer/printed ad with the price from the competitor. Easy stuff.
