Default Favorite Cognacs?

Along the same lines as the other thread... I am looking to purchase a new bottle of Cognac and I was wondering if the CP faithful have any good recommendations... Cognac's I used to enjoy (it's been a few years) include Hennessey VSOP and Camus VSOP...

Thanks

Hennessy X.O.

No doubt. Warm that baby up in your hands and it goes down like velvet. Delicious.

Expensive though $120 a bottle.

Yeah I am definitley more comfortable in the VSOP range considering it is half the price... the only XO I have ever owned was REMY, but I didn't find it a drinkable as my Hennessey VSOP

Any of the Gran Marnier cognac's are exquisite. Marnier XO is orgasmic.

Between this and the scotch thread I expect Ford to be incoherent shortly.

[CPDL GMs take note - Ford will be taking all offers on Toews, Tavares, Parise, and Bourque after 4pm.]

if you can afford to have a $2000+ bottle of cognac just sitting in your liquor cabinet, you need to throw more cp parties and have us all over. the bottle alone is worth about $100, its handblown crystal.

No, I don't have a bottle quite that good. Pity. But I do have a couple really nice Marniers, and the picture you posted gave me an irresistible urge to go and sample them. $150/bottle is pretty much the top end of my budget.

Next I think I'll have a little bit of good tequila, and then move on to scotch.

I'm working on it. The thing with stuff like cognac and scotch though is that they're sipping liquors. It's when I get into the rum that you know I'm headed for oblivion at at a rather rapid rate.

Anejo por favor. I won't turn down Reposado though ... Herradura Resposado is quite nice. My absolute favourite tequila is Clase Azul ... 100% agave azul. When I die I want to be embalmed in a vat of that stuff, that way I'll know that I wound up in heaven.

Yeah ... I think I'm gonna shut down all pretenses that I'm doing any work and go shoot some pool and drink some booze. My son needs some lessons, at both.

You're a man after my own heart. A quality anejo tequila can stand next to a quality whisky anyday. I visited the Herradurra distillery in Tequila last year. Best booze tour I've ever been on. We sat in the hundred year old casket room drinking 4 different types of reposado tequila for an hour. (we had to buy the anejo) Thoroughly saturated after that.

I think a pool and booze night would be excellent alright. We'll have to try to make that fly again this spring/summer. I'll concede that you can probably teach me a thing or two about pool, but you don't have anywhere near enough miles on the odometer to teach me much about booze.

Fair assessment, I make up the miles with accelerated RPMs....

Although, I can park the ego and try and learn a thing or two...
