Fact is Daly is one of the best ball strikers on the planet, his hand to eye coordination and power is incredable and Golf is one the the hardest if not the thee hardest sport to master.
|
That also means that video games are a sport. Dedication, mental toughness, raw talent and hand eye coordination are all important.

You should see how much money kids who play on the MLG tournament make. Some have made over a million a year.

In a weird way it does it make it a sport. By no means are these "gamers" athletes though.

So does that make masturbation a sport too?

Around the greens absolutely. Putting the perfect amount of spin on the ball out, 15-20 yards, the perfect "touch", pretty good comparison with pool.
But putting spin from 190 yards out in deep rough comparing that to snooker? give me a break.
Edit: I should also add, even though its quite obvious, spinning a ball on the same flat surface (pool table) is childs play compared to spinning a golf ball in conditions that will ALWAYS change. On the pool table you always know what you get. You'll never get the same lie in golf.

Yes. Tiger just happened to perfect playing that sport with multiple partners.

Personally I want to see that guy that could put spin on the ball from 190 out of deep rough.

Tiger Woods says hi. Maybe "deep" rough was a stretch, but everyone on the tour can spin the ball out of most rough that isn't US open thick.

Tiger Woods isn't spinning the ball backwards out of the rough, let alone deep rough, from 190.

I'd just like to point out that great minds think alike.

And the amount of money that people win makes it a sport how?
Unless you were just needlessly pointing out that people make $$ playing video games. In which case, yes I did know that and it is pathetic.

Well it is extremely hard to spin it out of deep rough from almost anywhere on the course, even for Tiger, which is why being in the fairway is a bonus.

"Deep" rough was a stretch as was my distance. These guys can spin from the rough though that's the bottom line.

Tiger and a lot of the heavy swingers routinely put a lot of spin out of heavy rough, because it doesn't back up 20 ft doesn't mean it didn't have lots of spin. In the tour championship Phil hit a 6 iron 205 from 4 inch rough and he hit it so high it backed up a foot. VJ does that stuff all the time as well.
If you have the power to go threw the grass without loosing the swing speed the grass won't stop it from spinning. Very few people have the power to do that and still hit the ball perfect though.

I think it's funny that a gossip thread has derailed into a thread about the intricacies of golf.
If my name were Alanis, I'd call this iron-ic.

I think I know a little bit about golf. I never said it was impossible, I said it was extremely hard and not even players like Tiger, Phil, Vijay know exactly what kind of spin will be on it when it comes out of deep rough. From the fairway they can pretty much predict what it is going to do, compared to the rough.

It's pretty much the only sport where the women's game makes a better spectator sport then the men's game.
