If you feel deceived its because you are naive about what rich and powerful men (and women) can do and try to get away with.
If you found out the character flaws of everyone on your list of supposed "clean cut" and "honest" people, you'd probably be horrified.

I don't feel deceived because I don't care about golf and I already figured the guy was kind of a butthole.
That being said, I would feel deceived and disappointed if a certain clean cut, smiley guy who plays for the Flames turned out to be a complete scumbag (and fool).
Does that mean I'm naive?

I just don't believe that this incident could over shadow Tiger's career, as Tyson's career was overshadowed.
|
I don't think it will overshadow his career either, unless he quits right now (i've said that like 3 or 4 times now).
I do however think it is at least possible that this event could potentially overshadow his career and at least understand why someone might post that.
Personally I think unless there is a sex tape, allegations of extreme perversion (I've already heard numerous times he liked having multiple partners at once) and possibly using his 2 iron for sex (what the hell else would anyone use it for) then I think this'll go away quietly.

I don't know how you still aren't getting the original point made by Rerun. No one was equating their actions!!!
The comparison was to how the actions overshadowed the accomplishments.
You can argue the fact that what Tyson did was worse all day long, it doesn't change the fact that NO ONE said their actions were comparable, only that the effect those actions had on overshadowing the accomplishments could be similar.
|
Actually no, that's not what I was talking about. Which is precisely why I said that is not what I am talking about.
HOOT and I were both discussing the comparison in terms of the degree of their actions, if that's not what was intended let Rerun point that out, if you want to talk about something else go ahead, but don't tell me what I'm talking about.

Ok whatever.
You can talk about actions all you want but I still don't think anyone suggested the actions are comparable until you and HOOT started discussing them. But then I'm not sure why you ever quoted me in the first place because I never compared their actions.

Hey, you two maroons managed to derail the game thread pretty good. I'm sure you'll manage to do the same here. I might as well join in, wouldn't want to feel left out and all.
Also, Tiger Woods is awesome. Keep up the good work buddy.

The game thread got a little heated but I don't know if any of the exchanges between me and HOOT in this thread were "heated". Definitely disagreements though.
Plus, none of our posts in this thread were really off topic, they were all about Tiger Woods in one way or another.
Well except this post actually, this one is OT.

Basically the person who took this thread OT was the person complaining about it.

Upper Deck is staying with Tiger.

“Upper Deck will maintain its exclusive agreement with Tiger in both our sports cards and memorabilia categories, and we look forward to his eventual return to the PGA Tour,” Upper Deck CEO Richard McWilliam said in a statement. “Tiger and his family have our full support.”

As long as he's got the people who buy golf trading cards and invest in swanky golf courses in Dubai on his side, he should be just fine.

Cheating on his wife is going to overshadow his career? 10 years from now he'll be 43 probably still winning a few tournaments a year and hopefully have the most majors of all time. Who cares about this anyway? It disgusts me how much people care about this guys life, reminds me of my 16 year old sister who watches "The City".

10 years from now he'll be sitting on a deck somewhere drinking cognac, or virgin's blood, laugh about the ones he didn't get busted for banging.
"13? Lol. Try 31."

Like Wilbon and Kornheiser said yesterday, anyone involved "sports-wise" with this guy should stick with him, anyone who is building their campaign based on "good decision making" (like accenture) should bail.

And if not he still has Abu Dhabi in his back pocket with the $10B bailout card...I don't think anyone will ever question his financial status....
