Boise isn't in the top 5.

I disagree. Cincy did what they had to do and beat some tough opponents throughout their schedule. It is tough to run the table no matter what league you're in, and they most definitely are among the elite on that merit alone.

Maybe it's a matter of differing definitions of elite. I don't think Cincy is a bad team, and they've definitely done all they can, but I don't put them in the same class as Bama, Texas, or Florida.

How about...#3 in the BCS standings, # 4 in the Harris, #4 in the USA, and #2 in the final computer rankings??
Sadly we will never know however, because college football is above a playoff to find out.

Actually we might find out if they lose their bowl game.

The new man at Kansas is Turner Gill.
He has done pretty well at Buffalo over the past few years, and now Turner Gill will get the opportunity to be the head coach at a big time BCS program, taking over the Kansas Jayhawks, after Mark Mangino's departure.
Buffalo had won a total of 5 games in the 4 years before Gill, and won 20 games in his 4 seasons, including going 8-6 in 2008, their first winning season since moving to D-1A in 1999.
Obvious first big game: his alma mater, Nebraska.

Suh should've won. And if not him, Gerhart was clearly the best RB in the nation.
But it's hard to be disappointed when the Heisman is essentially the best player on the best team award...although one could easily argue Rolando McClain is the best player on the Tide.

Great game. Really enjoyable to watch.
More than one future NFLer in that game IMO.
Can't wait for Friday night...I think Montana has an excellent shot at it's 3rd National Championship!

As I mentioned a few pages ago, great hire for KU if they can make it happen, and it looks like Perkins got it done. Now we'll see if Gill can make KU relevant in the Big XII, something Mangion came very close to doing, but didn't quite get done.

Attendance at the FCS semifinals....
Appalachian State @ Montana 15F, 25 MPH winds and snow. 24,200
William and Mary @ Villanova 4,100
That's pathetic.

Villanova is a basketball school, football is an afterthought and the area has tons of FBS programs and pro teams to follow. Montana has absolutely nothing else. The numbers reflect reality.

Obviously.
It's still pathetic. Villanova has had a good football program for several years now. They should be doing better.

I don't think it's pathetic at all. Nova is a school of 7000 undergrads in suburban Philadelphia and the vast majority of students are from out of state, so the local alumni isn't going to be strong. The number is well below the average attendance for Nova games, but last weekend would fall right in the middle of exam period, so student attendance was likely non-existent.
You're comparing it to a team that is literally the highest level of athletics in a state, it's a completely unfair comparison.
I just looked at the Nova website and any student with a MWF morning class was sitting in an exam on saturday.

This is the United States. Nobody studies on Friday nights.
Good to know the crowd will be overwhelmingly a Montana crowd Friday night in Chattanooga.

Game was on friday? So students had exams the next morning, and I don't know where you went to school but at places like Villanova people study on friday nights. People studied on friday nights before exams at Michigan State for crying out loud.

Yes, the game was on Friday. I didn't study much. Certainly wouldn't have missed a playoff game at my school to study for an exam unless it was a couple of hours after the game.
That's just me though. I am sure you're correct about the Wildcat faithful.

How many Division 1 nicknames can you get? No cheating.
104/120 for me. Pretty bad.
